I don't recommend it for birthdays. I wanted to celebrate my birthday in a good mood. Five days before, I personally visited the place and booked a table for 20 people. In order for everything to work well on my birthday, I visited the place once more in the morning to clarify my wishes. To my surprise, no one knew anything. They said that the person I spoke to is probably not working. If I don't go in the sun, even if I arrive with a group of 20 people, we wouldn't have had a place to celebrate my birthday. I asked to call the manager so that he could discuss the details with him. I would like to place a pre-order and pay in advance, so that when my friends, i.e. the guest team, arrive, they don't sit at an empty table, but have water and snacks on the table in advance. The manager wrote down my order. I wanted to pay in advance, but he wouldn't let me. He said there would be no problem. We first discussed the arrival at 6:30 p.m., but then they called me on the phone. They changed it and asked us to go at 6:45 p.m., because the kitchen opens at 6:30 p.m. and it takes 15 minutes to prepare the snack. However, when we arrived there was nothing on the table. The first appetizer from the pre-order arrived at 19:15, which I ordered 6 hours before. We sat waiting for half an hour to see if we could get something to eat. I think such leadership is inappropriate. I have experienced the service of several nearby restaurants before, this restaurant does not even come close to them. They are very proud of something they don't really have. They don't tell the truth. they lie to customers. The quality of the food varies. There are very delicious dishes that they can prepare well, but there are also some that are below class. One of my biggest problems is that they poison our food with chemicals. When the food is brought to the table, they spray poisonous chemical perfumes mounted on the wall above, which get on the food. This is facilitated by the ventilation system reaching everywhere. For me, gadbad was the worst quality of the places I visited in a week. instead of fruit, they put some junk called Muanyag jelly fruit on it. If you want to spend a pleasant birthday, do not choose this place. This is...
Read moreI visited Krishna Kuteera in Manipal one evening after a walk around Tiger Circle, and the place immediately felt warm and welcoming. The restaurant has a simple yet pleasant ambience, with both indoor air-conditioned seating and outdoor tables where you can sit back and enjoy Manipal’s relaxed atmosphere. At that time, it wasn’t overly crowded, which gave me the chance to take in the space peacefully.
What struck me first was its commitment to serving only pure vegetarian food—something that resonates well with Manipal’s identity as a student hub closely connected to nearby temple towns like Udupi. There’s a sense of cultural continuity here, where food feels like an extension of tradition and comfort.
The menu is quite extensive, ranging from classic South Indian staples like Masala Dosa, Neer Dosa, and Chow Chow Bath to North Indian curries, Chinese, and Punjabi dishes. I ordered a dosa with a strong filter coffee, and while the flavours were simple rather than extravagant, they carried a homely authenticity. Many reviews I’d read earlier mentioned the same—this is not a place for overly fancy twists, but for honest, filling vegetarian meals that suit students and families alike.
As the evening lights came on outside, Krishna Kuteera felt more like a community space than just a restaurant. Groups of students were chatting over snacks, a family was finishing dinner, and the overall vibe was relaxed and friendly. The staff were polite, the service was reasonably quick, and the prices were affordable, making it a reliable option for regular dining.
For me, the experience was more about the atmosphere than just the food. In a town shaped by both academics and spirituality, Krishna Kuteera captures that balance perfectly—clean, pure vegetarian dining in a setting that feels rooted...
Read moreI visited Krishna Kuteera restaurant this week, and it was an absolute culinary delight! The food was incredibly delicious and satisfying. We ordered a fantastic variety of dishes, including the Manchow soup, sweet corn veg soup, and the cream of mushroom soup. I liked Cream of Mushroom soup much, even others were too good. I have to say, the soup here is truly exceptional and what I liked more than anything else! For our main course, we enjoyed some perfectly made butter naan along with three flavorful curries: the rich kaju masala, the classic Paneer Butter Masala, and the tasty baby corn masala. We also couldn't resist trying their biryanis and ordered the aromatic Hyderabadi biryani, the flavorful mushroom biryani, and the rich mugalai biryani. The ambiance of Krishna Kuteera was also really amazing, creating a wonderful and peaceful dining experience. The atmosphere makes it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family. The service was excellent, with a welcoming and attentive staff who made the entire experience even better. To end our wonderful meal, we indulged in the sweet and delicious gulab jamun and the classic chocolate ice cream.
