I’ve had the pleasure of tasting food prepared by Sea Spice’s owner, Leslie so I know how deep his passion for food runs. So when I visited Sea Spice in Chikmagalur, me and my mum went there with high expectations and we enjoyed our meal.

I savoured the prawns ghee roast with akki roti and also tried the red snapper. This was my mum’s first time trying this fish and she loved it. The seafood and fish tasted like it had just been caught and I would surely recommend these two items which is among the best sellers.

Though I hadn’t been to Sea Spice before, I was en route to Kadur station and I had to make a stop there. So if you're in Chikmagalur and love authentic Mangalorean seafood, you’ll miss out if you don’t visit Sea Spice.

PS: The food was served on a banana leaf and it was my first time experiencing that at a seafood restaurant. It felt like pure...

If you're a seafood lover, this place is heaven on a plate! I had the Anjal fry and Prawns Ghee Roast, and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time.

The Anjal (Kingfish) fry was perfectly crisp on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with just the right amount of spice. Freshness was evident in every bite.

But the real star? The Prawns Ghee Roast – rich, aromatic, and bursting with traditional Mangalorean flavors. The ghee was generous but not overpowering, and the prawns were cooked to perfection—soft, succulent, and coated in that fiery red masala that makes you keep going back for more.

The service was warm and quick, and the ambiance cozy, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Heavenly Delight

My kids and I went to Sea Spice. It was recommended by a family friend so we did expect it to be good, but what I did not expect is - it being superb.

We ordered Prawn Ghee Roast, Anjal Tawa Fry, Neer Dosa. Ghee roast was simply out of the world. Prawns were fresh, masala fabulous.

If you are a fanatic about south Indian cuisine and are in look out for sea food well then the buck does stop here... this has to be hands down one of the best coastal food being served in Chikkamagaluru.

The order was attended pretty fast as I can say and boy oh boy the food is just fantabulous.

Be it Neer dosa, the Prawns ghee roast, Anjal Fry...the quality and the taste oomphs each and every palate and it is a happy place to be. Rest assured you would not return...
