Read moreBeen once, so this review is currently based on one experience. Went for lunch at around 02:00pm on a Thursday. There were a good number of people who had come for food. Me and my family sat on the ground floor, there is facility in 1st floor too. The ground floor is very spacious with lots of seating arrangements but only two washbasin. The space is very clean and looks well maintained. The gentleman who took our order was kind of lost in his own world. First we ordered two plates of 'South Indian Thali' with the preference of boiled rice and Puri. But the supplier served us with chapati. We informed him immediately, but the gentleman was confused if we had made a mistake. Nevertheless, he made the changes. Next I placed an order for 'North Indian Thali'. Both the thalis were pretty simple, nothing grand or special in terms of dishes on the thali. North Indian Thali came with 2 full Nans as main course and a small bowl of fried rice and similar bowl of curd rice. Everything tasted very bland, and surely needs an upgrade. Lunch : Not recommended. I will surely be giving a try for breakfast or evening snack next time. I have heard it's...
Read moreI am from Bangalore and my parents stay in Mangalore. I visited this place with my wife, kid and parents since my mother insisted on it. So here is my review:
It took 25 mins to get a table. Even though the other AC section was completely empty they were not serving there. When I asked them, they said they are short of staff. It was 10 AM in the morning, which is peak hour and it's sunday and they say they are short on staff...weird!
Orderd dosas, tasted very average and just 1 dosa per head filled our stomach. Nothing special.
Idlis we ordered were cold
We asked for Pongal. No Pongal.
Staff looked disinterested. There was a floor manager who was absolutely doing nothing and there was only one guy taking orders on his tab, poor guy.
Overall, coming from Bangalore, most of the veg/sagar/darshini hotels in Bangalore are either run by Mangalore or Kundapura folks. And they leave no stone unturned to provide good food, service and consequently make money. The same folks when I see them in Mangalore, seem to be very relaxed, content or careless with service, food and quality. This is a general feedback for most hotels...
