Read moreBefore I start to write, I want to say that this is completely based on my experience and I do not expect anyone to agree or disagree to this. As one of our friend was heading home sooner, she wanted to have dinner and none of us had the plan of eating out. And we decided to go this place cause it was near to where we all had gathered. There were 6 of us, My friend ordered a parantha and lassi. We did speak a little loud a couple of times cause we were planning a trip, I even noticed the owner of the place staring at us a couple of times and thought we should quiet down, my friends stayed quiet after they noticed staring towards our table. I wanted to send an urgent email before which my laptop died and I decided to charge my laptop in the cafe. By then, my friend finished having parantha and we decided to leave. One of my friend went to pay the bill and she was asked this question by the owner- “all 6 of you came here to eat only one parantha, lassi and to charge your laptop?”. The tone of this question was very rude. I do understand that we were not the ideal crowd that the owner expects to have in her cafe, but no customer would expect to get questioned that way. We stayed in that place only until our friend finished having her food, that took us about 20 mins. As a customer I would expect the host to be kind and compassionate towards anyone that walks into their cafe, and also would appreciate non judgmental behaviour. When I walked in, I thought I must visit this cafe again cause it had a cool and cozy vibe to it and while walking out, I had a completely...
Read moreThis is a true home away from home. Super tasty home cooked meals cooked to perfection. The hosts are great and they remember the guests well, also are great conversationalists. Our favourites are roti, paranthas (aloo, paneer, onion), momos and chicken curry. We liked the biryani too (egg and chicken). Looking forward to try the other dishes too. Price is extremely nominal (for example the chicken curry is priced at half what you’d pay in other restaurants and the quantity is more than sufficient for two people). Some reviews mention that the host is rude - I completely disagree with this - she is a very sweet person actually. We love the simple ambience too, they’ve even placed a few books to read. Among the beverages we liked the chai and the mango lassi was amazing. Apparently it’s made from frozen mangos from their farm - this is a must try item. I even love the way small portions of items in the menu are displayed at the counter itself for ease of choosing. The self service feature is also very much welcome - I don’t understand why many people have commented against this when this is the norm in many popular fast food joints as well.
So if you’re looking for good home cooked food in mysore, look no further. One suggestion is that the chicken kabab could be better.
You’ll actually enjoy every bit of your meal experience if you visit here. It’s not a fancy restaurant, like I said it’s a true Home...
