Arabian Palace is one of the few good Mandi options in Kakkanad. The place is comparatively small compared to their other outlets. They offer all the meats- chicken, beef and mutton. Mutton is very costly and it would amount to Rs 400/person and chicken being the cheapest at Rs 185/ person (all quarter in portion size). The chicken is available in normal, spicy and alfaham versions. Spicy beef Mandi is their renowned dish priced at Rs 260/quarter. If you're a huge Mandi fan and if you're not expecting the Middle East version, this is your place. The meat is very tender especially the beef and the portions are good. As usual, rice is flavorful and unlimited refills. The accompaniments are red tomato chutney, mint chutney and mayonnaise. Mayonnaise is viscous and tasty. Before they serve the Mandi, a small cup of soup is offered which is basically some broth and veggies. The ambience is not really great, very cramped indoor dining and a very unpleasant outdoor seating. If you're heading there for lunch, make sure you hit the place between 12:30 pm and 1 pm, because otherwise the place would be filled with college students (who have no manners or civic sense- from Rajagiri) and a lot of IT professionals (who graduated from Rajagiri lol). Soft drinks are available and it is a multiple restaurant space, so you get other food stuffs as well (and cigarettes if you're a smoker, with a dedicated smoking place which is not hot...
Read moreI’ve been to Arabian Palace in Kakkanad several times, mainly for their popular Mandhi dishes, but each visit has been more disappointing than the last. While the food quality has been good in the past, the overall experience has fallen short. The service is a major issue—the staff often come off as rude and dismissive, giving you the feeling that they just want you to eat and leave quickly. This creates an unwelcoming environment that makes it hard to enjoy your meal.
The indoor dining area is small and lacks air conditioning, making it uncomfortable, especially during the hot afternoons. On my last visit, I ordered the spicy Mandhi and Peri Peri Alfam for takeaway. Unfortunately, both dishes were bland—neither spicy nor resembling the Peri Peri flavor. The chicken had an unpleasant taste, and the rice was overcooked. It was definitely not worth the money.
Despite its potential, the unprofessional service and inconsistent food quality make it hard to recommend...

Visited Arabian Palace recently and unfortunately, it was quite a letdown. The food was average at best—not terrible, but nothing special either. What really ruined the experience was the service.
From the moment we sat down, it felt like the staff were reluctant to take our order. When one of our friends asked for a fresh lime juice, a few of us wanted to order one too—but strangely, they refused to take any more orders. Even after we finished our food, we never received the juice we had asked for. When we reminded them, they told us we couldn't order anymore. We had to convince them that we had already ordered it.
I've never been to a restaurant where the staff actively stop you from ordering. It was confusing and frustrating. Definitely not the kind of hospitality you'd expect when dining out.
Wouldn't recommend this place unless they seriously improve...
