Title: Disappointing Experience at Chiyang Restaurant Kakkanad Today, we decided to dine at Chiyang Restaurant Kakkanad. Excited to explore a new culinary experience, we entered the restaurant and were promptly greeted by the sight of several vacant tables. Without hesitation, we chose a table and settled in, eager to indulge in what we hoped would be a delightful meal. However, our initial enthusiasm was swiftly dampened when a waiter swiftly approached our table with a reservation sign in hand. With a hint of surprise and dismay, he informed us that the table we had chosen was actually reserved for another group. The suddenness of this encounter left us feeling rather embarrassed and unwelcome. Being seated at a table only to have it taken away moments later felt like a disconcerting oversight on the part of the restaurant's management. To our disappointment, neither the manager nor any other staff members present made any effort to rectify the situation or provide a satisfactory explanation. Despite their attempts to apologize and suggest alternative seating arrangements, the damage had already been done. The initial interaction had left a sour taste in our mouths, overshadowing any potential enjoyment we might have derived from the dining experience. The lack of attentiveness and professionalism exhibited by the staff at Chiyang Restaurant Kakkanad was deeply disheartening. In an industry where customer satisfaction should be paramount, their indifferent attitude towards our initial seating mishap was truly disconcerting. It became evident that the establishment prioritized their own convenience over ensuring a positive experience for their patrons. Regrettably, we made the decision to leave the restaurant without partaking in the culinary offerings it had to offer. Our appetite for a satisfying meal had been eclipsed by the unpleasant encounter we had endured. It served as a stark reminder that exceptional food alone is not enough to guarantee a memorable dining experience; the attitude and demeanor of the staff are equally crucial factors. In conclusion, I would caution others to approach Chiyang Restaurant Kakkanad with caution. While the quality of their cuisine may be commendable, the lack of hospitality and professionalism demonstrated by the staff detracts significantly from the overall dining experience. As discerning consumers, it is essential to prioritize establishments that not only excel in culinary prowess but also uphold standards of customer service and...
Read moreVisited Chiyang restaurant in Kakkanad yesterday, and the experience fell short of expectations, particularly in maintaining consistent food quality across their outlets. While the establishment offers parking and has a pleasant ambience, there's room for improvement in restroom cleanliness.
Commencing with the positive note, the French fries were satisfying, but the hot and sour soup didn't meet expectations. Unfortunately, the chilly chicken left a lot to be desired, being labeled as "good for nothing." The honey pepper pork, though flavorful, was marred by a meager quantity and an overload of capsicum.
The fried rice shone with the honey pork combination, but the standalone chicken fried rice lacked its expected flavor profile. The chicken noodles were below average, failing to leave a lasting impression. A notable discomfort was the ineffective air conditioning, making the dining experience uncomfortably warm.
Communicating these concerns to the staff, it's evident that the restaurant needs to focus on consistency in food quality, address portion sizes, and maintain a balanced flavor profile. Coupled with attention to cleanliness and pricing considerations, Chiyang Kakkanad could significantly enhance its overall dining experience.
Finally, while the service at Chiyang was satisfactory, there's room for improvement. Multiple instances of having to call staff three to five times suggest a need for more efficient and attentive service. Addressing this aspect would contribute to a more seamless and enjoyable dining experience at...
Read moreIn my nearly 20 years experience as a Food Reviewer and Restaurant critic- this is by far the worst Indo Chinese Restaurant outlet in their category in probably the whole of Kerala.
Not a Single dish, not even one, stood out to my appeal and they all competed with each other to prove me right.
The only dish I would even mention is Crispy Fried Pork, thin strips of light batter fried pork- but here again they disappointed by serving tomato ketchup as dip- the minimum requirement for such a dish would be hot garlic dip or sichuan dip.
All the other dishes were mediocre and below average not to mention the Chilly Beef which had a weird gamey smell- a big put off!
Also to make matters worse there were plenty of eggshells in the Fried rice and noodles as well. American Chopsuey was an utter eyewash with the so called crispy noodles soggy to the core.
The worst dish was the apologetic Chilli Chicken.
Service is slow, stewards very disinterested and...
