Mayabay : The Tropical Restobar Kakkanad,Kochi — Restaurant in Kerala

I had the pleasure of visiting Mayabay Restobar, situated on the rooftop of the Mayabay Hotel in Ernakulam, and it was a wonderful experience overall. The location itself offers a stunning rooftop setting, making it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the city's skyline at night. The ambiance is cozy yet modern, with great lighting and a comfortable seating arrangement.

We tried a variety of dishes, and every single one stood out. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned perfectly. The peri-peri French fries had just the right amount of spice and were a perfect accompaniment to our drinks. The chicken noodles were flavorful and cooked to perfection, while the Beef Edimulaku was tender and packed with authentic Kerala spices, making it a must-try for beef lovers. The Zuppa chicken soup was warm, comforting, and had a depth of flavor that really impressed us. To top it all off, we had a selection of cocktails, which were well-made and complemented the food wonderfully.

However, the one thing that could be improved is the service speed. While the food and drinks were excellent, the wait time for our orders was significantly longer than expected, which took away from the otherwise fantastic experience. It would be great if the kitchen could speed up the service a bit, especially during busy hours.

All in all, Mayabay Restobar is a great place for a night out with friends or family, offering delicious food, refreshing cocktails, and a beautiful rooftop atmosphere. Despite the slow service, I would definitely visit again for the food...

Mayabay ! An experience I would like to forget just due to the poorest customer service that I've ever faced.

We visited this place for dinner on Valentine's Day. Trust me it was not crowded.

The only thing good about the place was the live music.

I really felt sorry for the chef out there. All the food served were literally cold. Especially the fries and the mashed potatoes. Although the ingredients seemed to be of good quality, we never could enjoy our meals since the waiters had no clue about the orders placed or what has already been delivered even though the order was from a short fixed menu. All of us had a fun time chasing for the waiters to enquire about the food and get it delivered. I really would have filed for a refund if it was Amazon.

Out of the drinks we ordered, Pinacoloda and Mojitos were too sweet to our liking.

I'm pretty sure this place would 'Maya' themselves if they do not improve their customer service.

1 Pinacoloda, 1 Mojito, 1 Macintosh whiskey and 1 black coffee came upto Rs 1800/-. I find that a bit too much for the ambience and...

One of the best in Kochi must say. Undoubtedly being a foodie, I got sick and tired of the usuals served almost everywhere with mix and match of sauces. I couldn’t even digest the food of another highly renowned name of a chef but Mayabay is the second restaurant I found having done justice to my palette.

Among starters the non veg Mash Masala sausage with the dip was awesome ; the mushroom salt and pepper for the vegans I will suggest. In main course I loved their prawns mango curry (just the perfect texture not too viscous not too light) and rice. Ordered a vegan pasta though I wouldn’t say it’s awesome with tad bit of flaws while making it being liked by the local crowd. Another awesome must try is their Double marinated beef steak - was so so yummy !!! My sisters’s favourite drink was their passion fruit mocktail which I couldn’t try being full.

Ambience was really good and service was awesome. Their smoking corner is separate but they respected the smokers by keeping it not too far away like a few other restobars. All in all it’s a certain 5 star...
