Best hotel to try if you're in this area. Hotel provides veg as well as non veg cuisine. Food taste is good, authentic and portion size is great as well.
If you are a vegetarian, following are a must try dishes: Appam, Idiyappam, Coconut Milk, Lemon Tea.
Important Note: They add a lot of sugar in tea by default. So ask the waiter not to add sugar, or add less sugar, when you order. Their default sugar amount in tea is a LOT.
Everything else is usual. Idli, vada, sambhar etc are all good and light if you're going for site seeing right after your meal.
They also provide South Indian meals for lunch. North Indian curries are available as well, such as paneer, dal, rice, chapati etc. Snack items like noodles is available too.
There is no dedicated parking space but the area outisde the restuarant has enough space to park, unless you've come here in a tour bus.
The restaurant also provides parcel. Mode of payment can be cash or UPI based. Cards are accepted as well.
Be aware that the number of items in a dish is different from what you'd have seen in places like Bangalore. 1 plate idli, for example, comes with 3 idlis and 1 vada here. So make sure to specify to the waiter.
The staff is attentive and quick. This place is almost always crowded so it might take a few minutes for them to attend to you if you're here during peak hours. Either way, you'll get a great hospitality.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Hotel Gurubhavan Restaurant in Munnar and I must say, it was an excellent experience. The restaurant is located in a picturesque setting, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful flowers, which added to the overall charm of the place.
The menu at Hotel Gurubhavan Restaurant offers a variety of dishes, from traditional Kerala cuisine to North Indian and Chinese dishes. I ordered the Kerala thali, which included a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Each item on the thali was fresh, flavorful and perfectly spiced, which made for a delightful meal.
The service at Hotel Gurubhavan Restaurant was excellent, with the staff being very friendly and attentive. They were quick to suggest dishes and make sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.
In addition to the delicious food and great service, the restaurant also has a beautiful ambience. The interiors are tastefully decorated with traditional Indian art and artefacts, which add to the overall charm of the place. The restaurant also has outdoor seating options, which offer a beautiful view of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Gurubhavan Restaurant to anyone visiting Munnar. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the ambience is perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. I look forward to visiting this restaurant again...
Read moreThis review is about the hotel, not restaurant. If you want a good professional hotel then a big NO. Pros- location good, restaurant is good and prices of food items are reasonable, good eateries nearby, bathroom fittings are new. Behavior of staff is good. Cons- We booked a deluxe room. Room no 103 was given. There was black fungus everywhere in the wooden cupboard. Room was dark, damp with dirty curtains. We shifted to an executive room. Condition of this was much better. But curtains are old, dirty. Comforter was torn in lower part. I requested replacement of broken dustbin several times, but in futile. One pane of bathroom window was missing, for which we had to put clothes over window. The front desk was empty while we checked out at 8 am. Inspite of having a steep staircase at the entrance, there was no one to help with carrying bags. The care taker was sleeping at a sofa in front of reception wearing a blanket at that time. Only tube lights are there in rooms. Rooms are dark. There is no proper provision for accompanying driver, which is available in most of the hotels in Munnar. Price is quite high in comparison to their service. Even after charging so much they just provide a small piece of soap as complementary, nothing else. Water Glasses are also of very cheap quality. Over all a...
