connected with rickshaw, who takes me here.. I negotiate price. He knows it is worth about Rs 600 per night. says tariff is 3000 and will give it me for 2500 inc breakfast. eventually settle at at 2400. I explain to him that labour costs and rentals are less than in london. He says he pays Rs 300 to government even though there is NO government in India.||Then he says will reduce price by Rs 100 if I do not want their horrid breakfast.Rs 100 is reasonable estimate of breakfast price. But then does not reduce price when I say I do mot want breakfast. Then he says extra Rs 400 if I bring woman into my room even though he is as requested giving me double room. Then he says Rs 500.||I ask him for bucket, jug and a bowl. I write it down for him. I tell him 3 times Iwant it not in 10 years but soon. He says he will get boy to do it sharpish. Promises me faithfully. An hour later. No bowl, no jug, no bucket.||Suppose that you come here will you get better service? NO. This guy Praveen Thampi is the pits. Must be Indian.||Liar: I say I came from hotel in Kovalam. He says I did not. I show him my Kovalam hotel visitor card. He says he knows tgis hotel. Then he says it is not a hotel....||Room here is 'clean'.. What does that mean? It means that they have put down so many poisonous chemicals on the floor, on the bed, in the sheets, in the sink.. that ALL insects died and then they were swept away with dirty poisonous mop etc.||Every breath I have I can smell the poison. I will stay here 1 day max. Plenty of better places in Trivandrum. Kovalam where I came from today is top tourist area in India. My hotel was 1 minute to really nice beach. Only foreigners are ripped off in Kovalam near the beach. Rs 1100 per night was my rip off price. NOT Rs 10000 because one of nicest areas in India.Anyway lovely lovely airport road. Dust. No shops open. Dirt. Cars.Indians also. No beach. No park. No buffalos. Can you sleep with hotel poisonous cleaning fumes every breath? I kid you not. Of course maybe your nostrils are so used to poison, maybe you are from Calcutta or something, maybe then you can sleep here. Possibly last ever before painful death (kidding) from rat poison, ...Anyways, even after just 1 hour here, my skin is burning. My back, my arms at present.I am getting out...
Read moreSPS Kingsway: A Symphony of Sordidness Calling this a hotel would be an insult to cardboard boxes. SPS Kingsway isn't just bad, it's an existential crisis disguised as a budget stay. Prepare for a journey where disappointment is the concierge and misery your roommate.
Food: If prison slop had aspirations, it wouldn't reach the abysmal heights of SPS Kingsway's "cuisine." Breakfast was a lukewarm buffet of mystery and soggy sadness. Lunch was a culinary crime scene, and dinner was best described as a beige rebellion against taste buds. My advice? Pack your own food, unless you fancy acquiring superpowers through extreme indigestion.
Service: The staff were as enthusiastic as a sloth on tranquilizers. There was total zero coordination between the staff itself. My experience was so bad that i came here to write a review about this hotel. I really wish they will shut down their hotel in order to not to spoil anybody’s travelling experience. We booked total seven rooms in advance and for which they also took the advance payment. But when we arrived at the hotel, we came to know that they alredy given those rooms to other people. I mean, seriously ?? This was the worst part of my trip. I really hope they will shut their hotel as soon as possible because they are lacking the damn staff.!!! Shame on you...
Read moreVery rarely i write reviews but cudnt resist for this one..! This hotel just attract people by showing a huge lobby and photos taken during inauguration (probably) and will give you a shocker once you get in.||||The Reception itself was a turn down with 2 guys with absolutely no smile or hospitality talking to you in a rude tone as if they are doing some favour to us by giving us a chance to stay there.||||About the rooms i have no words. Please see the images and compare with watever given by hotel. They have stuck some wallpaper on the floor which over time was so dirty that i dint want to walk without shoes inside the room. The room was filled with mixed smell of Birdpoop and room freshener (to compensate the former)||||Breakfast was was served in an outdoor make-shift area behind the hotel, adjacent to the generators which again showed how proffessional they are.Half of the buffet chafing dishes empty and the restaurant guys didn't want to refill unless you remind them 3-4 times. I requested for an omlette and some poori which never came even after multiple reminders and 20-25 mins waiting.||||In all, this is a place you would like to avoid. There are many better options at 5-7 mins distance at much...
