Disappointing Breakfast Experience at Kochi Le Meridian's "Latest Recipe"
As an avid traveler who appreciates fine dining experiences, I recently had the opportunity to stay at the renowned Kochi Le Meridian hotel. Given its prestigious reputation as a 5-star establishment, I had high expectations for the dining options available, particularly the "Latest Recipe" restaurant where I decided to have breakfast. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, leaving me utterly disappointed.
First and foremost, the quality of the breakfast offered at the "Latest Recipe" fell well below the standards one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The variety of food options was noticeably limited, with a lackluster assortment of items available. For a hotel that prides itself on its culinary expertise, I expected a wider range of dishes that catered to different tastes and preferences. Instead, the offerings were unimaginative and repetitive, leaving little room for culinary exploration or delight.
The overall taste and flavor of the dishes were also quite underwhelming. The food lacked the freshness and finesse one would anticipate from a high-end restaurant. The cooked items, such as eggs and sausages, were unappetizing and tasted as though they had been sitting out for an extended period. Even the pastries and bread selection, which are typically a highlight of any breakfast buffet, were lackluster and failed to impress.
In addition to the disappointing food quality, the service at the "Latest Recipe" left much to be desired. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, paying little attention to the guests' needs. Empty plates were left uncleared for prolonged periods, and requests for basic items like coffee refills were often ignored. The lack of professionalism and hospitality was surprising, considering the hotel's reputation and the expectations associated with a 5-star establishment.
Moreover, the ambiance of the "Latest Recipe" did not live up to the elegant standards one would expect from a luxury hotel restaurant. The seating arrangements felt cramped and lacked comfort, which made the dining experience far from relaxing. The overall atmosphere was bland and uninspiring, failing to create a memorable and enjoyable breakfast setting.
Given the premium pricing associated with the Kochi Le Meridian hotel and the promise of a top-notch dining experience, the "Latest Recipe" fell short on all accounts. The underwhelming food quality, lackluster variety, indifferent service, and subpar ambiance all contributed to an overall negative breakfast experience. For a 5-star hotel, such shortcomings are simply unacceptable.
I regret to say that my visit to the "Latest Recipe" at Kochi Le Meridian was a letdown. If you are seeking a delightful breakfast experience that truly reflects the standards of a luxury hotel, I would recommend exploring other dining...
Read moreCustomer service wasn't good nuf compare to other places.. food was above average.. the display of live food and ordering it was hectic as we don't know names of the most fishes. Which isn't return respective order which is placed. Nor anyone there to answer ur queries. And person who takes order are at a different place from there at the centre. And chef won't take orders directly as of hayaat. Marriott Or taj where they do. And placement if counter isn't good nuf . Service was so delayed at live counters . I placed orders for starters and got it and end of meal . Also juice too took long time. There isn't any thing expensive in buffet. In other places u find shrimp and prawns and variety of mutton and tawa grill of exotica fishes. Here i found sardines i was like y. One mutton in starters nor anything else from that. Chicken was the main dishes based on. One other thing i noticed food counters had small container so most need refill frequently. And refil was slow. So I don't get to take few from the counters. Sunday brunch isn't worth it..compare to other places I'm into it. Even though this was cheaper i felt i would have payed little more and had something better than saving few bucks and settling to something less. NB: I didn't seen any smiling faces there and which was huge deal . It was like ITC hotel in Goa. I really hated i had to stay 3 days there. With there ugly grumpy faces. It was all over again. I really hate people don't welcome us without smile or happy face . All look dull n tired and i felt like they see us like un invited guest in wedding. Like we don't deserve to be here.. honestly we had family brunch and had a good time. But not best times or the great time like we hoped and we payed for. May be they're understaffed for the day to handle rush. But i didn't felt any good vibe. Only thing good nuf was that balloon and magics for my kids.. atleast they're happy. Even glass broke by the juice section took half hour to clean. We had 2 kids with us. Do you how hard to keep them seated till they clean up. And i don't seen sugarless desert like most places have these days. Nor any special kids menu section.. so I won't be visiting...
Read moreI’ve dined here before for the buffet and it was a decent experience, but this time when we went for a lunch buffet for 4 and 2 kids, it was a pathetic experience.
There was a big group who were just finishing when we arrived and they had rearranged majority of tables because of them. We had to wait for 20 minutes even after making priority reservation.
Coming to the food, all the food items were almost room temperature or mildly warm, making it a sub standard experience for their much priced buffet at the so called Le Meridian’s “Latest Recipe”. The beef prepared in the continental section was rubbery and hard to chew. Butter chicken was passable, Lucknow chicken dum biryani was no where close to the real expectation. Butter Paneer and the starters were the dishes worth trying. Desert options were many and above average in taste.
Lastly, it was very warm in the section where they provided us a table. This was not rectified even after mentioning this to their wait staff and also the manager. This is the least one expects from a restaurant at a hotel of this standard.
I’ll avoid it for any further family outings unless you would like your guests to suffer the...
