Have you tried our Malabar chicken Biriyani in long-grain rice ?? If No, Pandari's is the ultimate destination for it.
Pandari's was there in my wish list for long and finally, I got a chance to try their biriyani. I must say that Kochi is a one-stop destination to indulge in different types of biriyani. This eatery opens at 11:30 am on every day it goes till 10.30 pm with a short break after 3.30. I reached this place at around 4.30 pm. The restaurant was open and luckily I was able to grab a plate of chicken biriyani. Normally the restaurant will not be operative post 3:30 pm till 6:30 pm. They will start functioning officially after 6:30 pm for their dinner preparations. If anything cooked for the lunch is left they will provide to the customers who come after 3.30 pm. Its purely depending on the availability of the food items.
╫Menu:
They don't have a wide range of items in their Menu Card. The eatery mainly emphasizes on their unique style biriyani popularly known as the Pandari's biriyani. Their menu card is as follows:
Chicken Biriyani - 150
Mutton Biriyani - Rs 200
Beef Biriyani - Rs 140
Fish Biriyani - Rs 1200
Egg Biriyani - Rs 100
Veg Biriyani - Rs 100
Ghee Rice - Rs 90
Beef Roast - Rs 100
Chicken Fry - 110
Fresh Lime - Rs 25
╫ Atmosphere:
There is nothing much to say about the ambiance. It's a small eatery shop which has got 4-5 tables (not sure exactly though). The place was quiet when I made the visit as I was the only guest at that time.
╫ Service:
The service was good and quick.
╫ Food:
I opted for Chicken Biriyani as that was the only item left at that time. The biriyani was served along with salad and dates pickle as its accompaniments. The quantity of the biriyani was decent and it can easily fil one's tummy. The biriyani tasted like our normal Malabar biriyani and it contained 2 decent pieces of chicken in it. The highlight of the biriyani is that they would be using long grain rice. The amount of masala in it was also adequate and the taste was not that hot. The chicken pieces were well cooked and tendered. Overall I liked the biriyani.
One of the good options in Kochi to indulge in a different style of Biriyani. We can hardly find shops in Kochi that use long grain rice to cook Malabar Biriyani. This eatery was worth trying for me. This eatery is located near to Infopark and it would be a good option for those who are looking to have a quick biriyani for...
Read moreIt was nearly 8 pm when I suddenly felt like having a biriyani. I called up trusted friends for recommendation and I was directed to Pandari’s biriyani in Kakkanad. I parked the car next to the building and was looking inside the shop. I could see lots of parcels being picked up by zomato guys. There was hardly anyone inside eating, initially I felt like moving to another location but decided to see what’s inside. I asked the manager whether biriyani is there or not... he said the last one is there. So we decided to give it a try. The biriyani was superb. Both of us had 1 full biriyani. After having the biriyani I asked the manager regarding their other branches and I was told that they have 3 outlets in the city of Kochi. I was curious about the name ... Pandari’s . He told me that it’s the Malabari word for chef so it’s chef’s biriyani. The salads and pickle was also good. As we were sitting there 5 people came for biriyani and the manager had to send them back telling it’s over. I was seeing a restaurant in kochi where everything got over by 8:30 pm. Pandari’s biriyani is good and one need...
Read moreThis is a unique Kochi style biryani. Their menu is standard, i.e. chicken, mutton, beef, prawns, and fish biryani. We tried the chicken biryani and mutton biryani and loved the Flavors of both. subtle flavors of spices, rice and the cooking style come out distinctly. the meat is well cooked and the mutton was tasty. I would personally love more pieces but well, this is Kerala so expect rationed portion of mutton pieces. The place is neat and clean.
Noteworthy to mention, I assume they are using good quality ghee or oil because unlike many restaurants when you wash your hands, the oil you figure out is vegetable fat, which sticks to your fingers and here I had no such experience so my way of knowing if the ingredients were good, is to see the residue after you wash your hands
Nothing great in terms of ambience it’s a standard quick eatery. I guess majority of the orders are on...
