Pictured here is their xl shawarma. Their classic shawarma is the Lebanese shawarma. Growing up in middle East, I was always attracted to the shawarma that I've been used to having there. Have tried various styles while there. Can't name them right now though. But the best I've had was the labanese shawarma from any decent labanese restaurant in Saudi, where I was. After I came back to India, I have painfully tried every shop that I could navigate off too. The nearest experience I've had, was some shop where I asked them to remove onion and other veggies and give me shawarma with just the bread, garlic mayo and chicken. That gave me a decent feel. Like 0.5/5. Can't say it was bad. But compared to what I have had, it definitely was. And I was about to assume that this is it. If I die right then, I'd die with a faint memory of what a labanese shawarma tasted like. And maybe if heaven was where I was headed, I'd have to ask the angels there to get me that real labanese shawarma. But then, like they say. Heaven is right here, and if only we conspired! Maybe the universe conspired and I got suggestion from one of my friend kiran, about the best place in town. I wasn't sure if it would really be the best. But neutrally and randomly, a hungry me walked in on to pita works one day during my trip to my home in Kakkanad. I ordered a classic regular. One bite was what it took. It teleported me back in time, to a tiny restaurant in riyadh that I would walk happily for 3 kilometres, with the hope that I'd have the taste of the best shawarma I've had in my lifetime. I was right there. Maybe it's feelings like these, we need to live for. And pita works, I owe you more than just a feedback. You have redefined to me that good things take time. And for kochi, that time is now. And you got it here. Forever indebted for this feeling that you recreated for me. You have a lifelong customer, made. I wish you the very best and a future that is...
Read moreI am disappointed to see the rating of the restaurant. I’m one of their regular customers for now. Each time I visit I see the restaurant rushed up and always occupied. It takes 10mins and longer for the order to get delivered and thats the rush of this restaurant. I’m not paid or I’m not simply writing this reviews up.
I saw a comment coming up that says the restaurant is not clean or tidy, but the fact is it’s not always right. I have seen the partner of the restaurant wiping every single order with a tissue to make sure that it’s clean even after its wrapped up, for all orders thats is being either served or is taken away. I see new workers overtime and they are generally giving out opportunities for new employees. They might not have the experience with a restaurant so rather correcting them or giving a feedback, its generally backstabbing for giving a negative feedback just for it.
Now coming to the food part, everyone has their cup of tea, XL shawarma is not my type but regular shawarma is a boom. I was in Saudi Arabia for about 9-10yrs and none of the other restaurants in india except PITA WORKS gave me the similar taste on my taste buds. So that’s a COWABUNGA !!!
Last but not the least, my wife is there out with another order 😍 cheers and let it...
