I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Light House Restaurant in Calicut, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The night spent there was truly memorable.
First and foremost, the ambiance at the restaurant was perfect for a relaxed evening out. The soft lighting, comfortable seating, and the overall decor created a cozy and inviting atmosphere. What stood out for me was the option to enjoy a cool mint hookah, which added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. It was a unique and delightful touch.
The menu at Light House Restaurant offers a variety of options, but what truly impressed me were the lamb dishes and soups. The flavors were exquisite, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. Whether you're a fan of lamb or prefer a warm, comforting soup, you won't be disappointed here.
Location-wise, the restaurant is incredibly accessible. It's conveniently situated near Hilite Mall, Cyber Park, and Metromed Hospital, making it a great choice for locals and visitors alike. Whether you're in the mood for a nice meal after shopping, a quick stop during a work break, or a visit while staying at the hospital, Light House Restaurant is just a stone's throw away.
The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. They were more than willing to make recommendations and ensure that our dining experience was enjoyable.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a fantastic dining experience in Calicut with a great atmosphere, delicious food, and accessibility, Light House Restaurant should be at the top of your list. My night there was wonderful, and I can't wait to return for another visit. Highly...

So let's get that out of the way. The food was good. Hummus and chicken biryani (Lebanese style) were well prepared. Chicken wings were okay. A bit overpriced though.
Now coming to the main point and about the experience. Undeniably the worst experience. The restaurant has an AC room which has 2 big tables that can easily seat 15 people. There was a family (of 3) already seated on one of those tables when we (a family of 3 as well) got there. Within a minute of us being seated, someone from the restaurant staff comes up to me and tells me we have to move outdoors because the other family wasn't feeling comfortable in sharing the space with someone else. Apparently due to religious reasons. Yes, we were of different religions.
The worst part of this episode is obviously the shocking attitude of such people in the 21st century. I was equally disappointed with the behaviour of the restaurant staff who insisted we move instead of the ones who actually had the problem. They should have taken a firmer stand on refusing to accommodate such offensive demands from the guests.
After that, the food became irrelevant. It really left a bad taste in our mouth which no amount of delicious food could resolve. We were famished, so had our lunch, raised the issue with the management and left.
Hoping the management has a better response planned for such incidents...

All, i mean all the people who are commenting here saying the food is authentic and true to its roots knows nothing absolutely about middle eastern, arabic or turkish food.
Iskender kebab is a dish served on a plate with pieces of butter toasted bread as a bed and on top of that shavings of lamb/beef from a shawarma spit, followed by yogurt on the side, and a decent topping of tomato gravy with a drizzle of sizzling olive oil, served with grilled chilly. This is the authentic iskender kebab and there is no other variety to this.
What's served here is lamb kebab topped with red, green peppers in a tomato based gravy with no bed of butter toasted bread. A very simple google search will tell you what iskender kebab is. Do a little research please to know what a dish is, not very difficult, is it ?
The cheese manakeesh is nothing but cheese pizza on thin crust pizza. The meat manakeesh is by far the most disastrous imitation of meat manakeesh i have ever had.
The Turkish coffee was boiled filter coffee, plain and simple.
What an experience to say the least.
This is not what we had in mind. We were really hopeful to have our mind blown away by the authenticity and taste of the dishes, but sadly, yet again no restaurant in kerala delivers...
