The LMN — Restaurant in Kerala

LMN was a name I'd heard long time back, back when it started and it had always been on my wishlist from then. Located on the riverside in a spot so enchantingly secluded from the hustle bustle of the teaming Thriponitura, yet so very close to it. The location is just perfect. The best time I feel to visit is in the evng with the setting sun gleaming all its glory on the gentle river..shimmering a soft warmth on us.

The spot has both inside nd outside seating arrangements. Parking maybe an issue during peak hours, But manageable. It's a good spot for a small sized family party/ office get-together/send-off party etc... Lots of ambient foto-ops.. Good service and staff behaviour.

Food. Ordered the all-famous angry duck burger, LMN sunset. A beefsteak sandwich and a Mediterranean steak ...

Angry duck - Well presented. The taste catches you off-guard at first and then you just ease into the savoury flavours. It's a verry good choice.... But once back home....i wish it had a lingering taste that made a memory.

LMN sunset - as expected the initial reaction is surprising... The sweet blend of fruit juices gives a refreshing tangy twist to the palette.. The more you drink, the taste morphs into the syrupy-fruity sweetness. Which gives a sigh of relief, from all the times I've had watered down juices with fancy names. Try it. Won't regret.

Beefsteak sandwich - beautifully presented and made with focaccia bread slices, the steak slices are medium-rare with the usual roster of veggies and sauces.

Mediterranean steak - very well presented that I forgot to take a photo. Medium done steak with side of chopped veggies nd broccoli.

Via Zomato, I ordered dinner yesterday, It was my dad's 73rd Birthday and we decided late, to order in than go out because my dad wasn't up to it. So, we place an order at 8 pm. In the meanwhile, we cut cake and all. there were just 4 of us, so it was relatively quiet.

The cake cutting, the voracious feeding and all were done in about 20 minutes, I presume we completed the birthday formalities by 9:15pm. remember, i placed the order at 8?.. yea, the food still had not come.

So we call up the place and we get the reply that the delivery boy would reach in 5-10 minutes. Same reply from Zomato... Anyways, to cut the long story short, we got the food after 105 minutes of placing the order. The restaurant is 2 km away from my place. .. My brother gave a piece of mind to someone who picked up the phone in the restaurant. We had ordered dal makhani which was so poorly packed, it completely leaked out and was rendered useless for most part...

Here comes the kicker ... The food was lovely. Even my Mom, who is very picky was all compliments about the chicken we ordered. Dal, whatever we could salvage, was delicious. The naan, could be used as a slingshot and was a waste of money.

Giving 3 stars only because the food was damn good. I dont know if i would use zomato to get food from LMN. I would rather go there and have food. Also, If someone responsible from LMN is reading this post, please have a few plastic containers with proper lid to deliver gravy/curries. it's mere common sense. reducing 1 star for horrendous packaging and 1 for the delay in delivery, barring which, it would...

The place is beside a lake, and very much feels so very differnt from the city it is located in. A quick getaway from the fast paced life style. The appartments close to this place seems to be of higher class than the middle class that I am used to see in this part of Vadakkekotta. This might be the reason for the higher priced menu items. Don't get me wrong, the higher price is partly due to the ambience they provide.

The outdoor seating is perfect for family, friends and couples. If you prefer indoors, they have air-conditioned indoor searing as well. Both seating have its own advantages. While you can enjoy the scenic beauty and calm outside; indoor seating allows you to view the beautifully decorated interiors as well as the big screen projector screen. I watched the IPL when I was here on the projector screen. I can see friends hanging out here and having a good time, if the management wants it that way.

However, the only gripe I have is the pricey menu as well the somewhat bland tasty burger I had. Maybe they have better options here. The place was almost deserted when I came here. The lack of customers might be due to it being a bit too far away from the city centre. Honestly this detachment from city and lake side view is what attracted me. People might also not be aware of such a restaurant here. I found it through zomato, and you can order online for homedelivery through it. All in all, try the place out if you are in locality and need a place...
