Waffee House Kochi — Restaurant in Kerala

Revoking my original review of this place from back in 2021. This place has gone to the dogs.

Visited the establishment after a long break, and was surprised to see it almost empty at 7 pm in the evening.That should have been my 1st clue!

After placing my order to a young gentleman who seemed more captivated by his social media while he was duty than people's orders, I had to endure 25 minutes of waiting until my order for 1 waffle was ready! I had to constantly remind him of the order every couple minutes because I was worried he was drifting off, hiding behind the desk computer screen as he was.

Astonishingly, a group of around 4 women, who came in after my order was placed ,got their food served even before me, who had placed an order for only 1 item !

Finally when the waffles came, it was as delicious as ever, and I was relieved that at least the cook knew what he was doing.

But even that feeling of satisfaction at the food was rudely interrupted when I finally made my way to settle the bill and the guy says they don't accept cards! In this day and age, they only prefer cash or Gpay! I understand it's hard for small time shop owners to stomach the surcharge on the card transactions, but this was no small establishment, neither did they have any sign informing their patrons about their inclination towards not accepting card payments! It's ultimately up to the customer to decide whether they should dine in, and what method of payment should be used.

The only explanation the possibly half high staff had to provide was that the machine was out of order a few months back and the owner hasn't repaired it, while he stood smiling like a simpleton and not a professional working in the food industry.

Like many waffle shops in Ernakulam, I predict that this one would also close their doors , if such behaviour towards thier customers continues.

Rating brought down to 2 stars, instead of 1 star, only coz the food was edible.

Maximum use of the small space inside this shop. Modern interiors and delicious food make this a must visit if you're around the Kaloor junction...

After the buzz and all the initial rave reviews, finally got a chance to visit this place amidst the pandemic. Having been craving for some authentic pancakes and waffles, this place did justice to serving fresh waffles and pancakes but their bizarre combination of flavors ruined the experience all together. Either the staff are inexperienced or their menu doesn't give it away but a simple cheesecake mini pancake had no amount of cheese in it. The staff were reluctant to admit the fact at first but we kept tasting white chocolate throughout the entire dish, and later the staff admitted that their cheesecake flavor was a mix of cream cheese and white chocolate🙄 The waffles are well done but again isn't anything unique compared to the other eateries out here in kochi that serve waffles. Their little touch of being able to add ice creams is a wonderful add on. The cold coffees are a certain bang for the buck.👍🏻 There is ample seating and the ambience is well lit.

I happen to visit the place amidst the pandemic and I must admit that the staff in the kitchen were no where close to practising any forms of covid protocols as they were neither wearing masks nor any gloves.

I would definitely recommend this as a perfect hangout spot to kill some time and enjoy decent food, but never an ideal competition to the waffle and pancake game. Had high hopes but my first encounter was a bit...

We recently visited the Waffle House for the first time. We have had waffles from a few other places in kochi. Waffle House is on top of our list as one of the best waffle places in kochi. The place has a beautiful minimal green ambience. The place had a refreshing interior with shades of green for the chairs, door and couch. Their speciality is the bubble waffle .it's not available anywhere else in kochi .

We ordered the chocolate overload bubble waffles and it was true to its name . It was very chocolaty. It was fun and very filling with a variety of toppings and ice cream. There were a variety of beverages on the menu. But it would have been great if they had hot cappuccino or hot chocolate in the menu. Hot Coffee is a great combination...
