For those who donāt know what CK stands for, Its CavinKare(was a new thing for me :) ). Even though Iām a big fan of the milkshakes they makes, never knew they had their own outlet. So CKās bakery Kaloor is located at Kaloor - Kadavanthara road, just opposite to CCD.
If you are on a tight budget, they serves quality food on a pocket friendly price. Even their tag line is āEat Fresh, Pay Lessā. Most of the items are prepared inside the kitchen as per order.
I will write down some of the must try items from their menu.
Chicken sausage roll puff : OMG at ā¹30 its a steal. Perfectly cooked sausage with melty cheese wrapped in a fluffy puff pastry. Must try. Veg & Cheese Panini : Their in house bread and the tangy dip combined with those veggies were awesome. The only time in my life where i had a serious liking towards the vegetarian one than the chicken. Priced at ā¹75. Smoked chicken Panini : The same veg & Cheese panini with smoked chicken fillings. Wish those chicken were a bit more smoked though. Chocolate dry cake: comes in a nice packet and not so dry as the name suggest. Can be consumed with the coffee they serve. ā¹100 only !
And the best part, they take orders for customised cakes, that too at a nominal price. So if you are in a hurry to have a cake for ur dear ones, drop in to the Kaloor or Thevara outlet. Trust me, they are pretty good at it. And when it comes to their service, its top notch. Wish they had more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you are that person who wanna eat a lot or even treat your buddies but still save a lot of money, then CK bakery is the place. The restaurant serves pocket friendly dishes without compromising on quality and quantity alike. I was stunned to see savouries such as chicken tikka panini sandwich, smoked chicken sandwiches selling for just ā¹75 bucks where the CCD opposite to this bakery sells the same for ā¹250+. Same quantity and stuff at 1/4 price! That surely is the mojo factor to choose this space.
My top picks from the evening are chicken sausage rolls(sausage was a bit soggy, but it was tasty), Veg Cheese sandwiches and smoked grilled chicken sandwich. The cakes didnāt attract me much as the chocolate truffle was a bit off that day. Yet was not at all depressing. But no complaints as you get a good great slice for 50 bucks! Thatās quite a steal deal! We were really impressed with the live cake making session and the team was really enthusiastic to show us the cake making.
They have simple mojitos and even coffees available and the place has a simple and elegant ambience. You will surely spot these bakeries across as it follows the same design pattern across the country. I was at the Kaloor outlet, but other close by outlet is at Tevara and Palarivattom. We left with a beautiful dry cake box, and it costed just ā¹100. Yes, this one is definitely a money saver by month end! š

Ā Ā Ā Read moreCK Bakers, I'm sure kochiets have been seen this teal board with yellow and pink writing for sometime now. I've been intending to visit them ever since they opened an outlet in kochi, thanks to all the hype my friends in Chennai had given me.
OhOh. You know Cavins milkshake right? These people make them. Now you have an idea how good they are. I wasn't disappointed. The hype was true.
Sausage rolls was top on my must try series. Yes. Sausage in sautƩed onion covered in a soft cripsy puff pastry with a Cheese spread. A true snack I tell you.
Next on my list were their panini sandwiches. I think they're the only place to serve actual panini in the city as of now. I loved the grilled panini chicken sandwich. Crisp on the outside gooey in the inside. All paninis come with a sauce on the side.
While I was walking back to my seat after going to the counter to grab a milkshake, my eye caught on a box that read Dry Cake. Grabbed one right away and cake was not dry as the name suggested. It was a normal chocolate cake. Something we can always carry on a picnic.
I also tried their truffle cake. Cold truffle cake was between ok and good. I liked the ganache to sponge ratio.
My experience at CK was very pleasant, thanks to the very...
