49 Restaurant at Salt Lake has been creating quite the buzz since last week. With a weekend to spare, we decided to pay this joint a visit. Near CAP CAMP in Salt Lake, this place is providing the perfect ambience for people to spend some quality time with food. With neatly aligned seats and dimly lit interior, this gives quite the vibe of a perfect date like atmosphere. Now comes the time to hog on to some delicious food. We caved for 📷Crispy Fish : These were the perfect starters once could have asked for. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, one bite was a salutation for the freshness of the fish used in the making. After a long time I had such crispy fried yumminess. This one goes to my must have list from this place. 📷 Golden Fried Prawns: Prawns deep fried in a tempura batter was a crunchy delight. What was more beautiful was the way they plated it. Tasted equally great. 📷 Chicken Cheese Malai Kebab: Soft juicy pieces of chunky chicken marinated in malai grilled to perfection and topped with cheese. Writing about this one is making me hungry again. The chicken was tender and an adequate amount of cheese accompanied it to elecate the taste. 📷 Tandoori Chicken Butter Masala with Cheese Naan: This combo felt like a match made in heaven! The naan was so soft that you could literally tear it with two fingers. And the chicken.....it was beyond yummy. The gravy had perfect seasoning and tasted like the perfect butter chicken ever made. 📷Fried Rice with Chilli Chicken: Another cult favorite and go to dishes to judge the indo-chinese culinary skills of any chef...! Here too, it tasted quite well. The chilli chicken had chunky pieces of chicken in it with a tender coating and tossed perfectly in the gravy. 📷 Mutton Keema Pulao: The star of the spread, we ordered it again just because we couldn't get over its awesomeness. This one you need to try to believe. Imagine soft pieces of mutton keema in every bote of pulao (which tasted almost like biryani) with that subtle sweetness.....heaven in itself. One should go to 49 Restaurant to try this dish alone. It's beyond words. 📷 Ice-Cream: Every good thing must have a sweet ending. So here we kept it simple with some vanilla ice-cream topped with chocolate sauce. Enough to cool down the senses after gorging on so muh food. Overall, a real decent place with courteous staff and delicious food to elevate your mood. Do give this place a visit next time and remember to order an extra plate of that Keema Pulao coz it's just so awesome!

The restaurant is located on the Vivekananda Road, 119 Vivekananda Road to be precise. 5 mins walking distance from Girish Park metro station. It's on the right hand side of the road if you are heading from Girish Park Metro to Maniktala Crossing. And 5 mins walking distance from Maniktala Crossing as well. I visited the restaurant with my office colleagues on a weekend dinner and my experience is worth remembering. The following is the summary of my experience:- 1) The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor, and has 2 sitting arrangements, one with AC and TV with 8 no's of 6 sitting table and the other is the balcony or the roof top. The roof top experience is different during daylight and even more special in the night with the lights on. We specifically demanded for the roof top experience to enjoy the sunset and lights coming on. We a group of 6 people visited the joint at around 6pm. Both the interior as well as the roof top is beautifully decorated and also have 3 coups of 6 seating capacity (Pictures attached), a large aquarium as well. 2)The roof top experience just blew my mind when u can see the road from the top and sitting from the table as well. The view is even more unique in the evening when the lifhta are on (pictures attached). 3) The service is prompt and the food quality)taste is excellent & price is reasonable. Quantity sufficient as well. The steward Mr Partho Da helped us in selecting the menu. 4)We tried their signature dishes "mutton keema polau" whose quantity is sufficient for 2 people and contained shredded pieces of mutton and tasted perfect for the taste buds. This was accompanied by "Chiken Do Piyaza" which contained 6 pieces and the gravy is what to look out for. In starter we ordered Chicken pakora and cold drinks. The Chicken Pakora had 8 boneless pieces served with tomato sauce & salad and was good. Overall I will give 5 out of 5 for ambience just go for roof top sitting during afternoon as well as try out during night with lights on. The food taste was excellent & considering the price I will give 5 out 5. Would look forward to try their Chinese dish next time and kebabs.

Wanna enjoy some rooftop environment with the flavour of North Calcutta, then just rush to this place which is 8mins walking from Girish Park metro station and 1min from Vivekananda road...this restaurant serves great food at an affordable price having both indoor and outdoor sitting facility...we preferred to sit outside which also have a wooden look and lamps hanging to enrich the overall ambience...also a soft music was playing in background which makes the overall ambience very beautiful and cozy... So coming to food we ordered : 🍟 Starters : 1.crispy chilli baby corn 2.crispy fried lamb 3.cheese malai kabab. 🍲 Mains : 1.mutton biryani 2.butter naan 3.murg makhani. 🍧 Desserts: I.vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. The food was great and the best one which I liked was cheese malai kabab which is too yummy..the crispy baby corn was also great but I felt the coating was tough...the crispy lamb was also very good..coming to main course the mutton biryani was very delicious with great aroma and the mutton pieces were very soft and we'll cooked..the butter naan was also good and the size was huge..murgh makhani was also very tasty which gave good companion with biryani and naan...the dessert full filled our tummy atlast and they also gave us soft drinks as complementary which ended our lovely experience to this place..🤩♥️ I would highly recommend all to come with family and friends and experience this outstanding rooftop restaurant.. would love to visit again 😋♥️..

Ambiance :- It may look like a old building from outside , but as soon as you go up through the stairs to the 2nd floor you'll see the restaurant. A total different look of inside which it looks from outside. It has both indoor and outdoor seating arrangement.

Service :- Well this a area where even a restaurant with no great food can shine, but man I have to bring in the notice regarding the behaviour. I'll describe the whole incident. What actually happened today was that I visited the restaurant and ordered some food. Which was not as usual, it seriously wasn't edible according to me (different people different taste always.), which I had complained. But the reaction to it completely stunned me. The manager came and just lashed out. He started shouting on the attendant and he kept on asking me that you tell us how to make if you didn't like our food. Which was total unprofessional and not at all expected from a managerial position person. Instead of accepting and being polite he charged me with counter attacks. And as I was with friends and didn't want to create a fuss of the matter, I politely asked for the bill. So that I could pay and leave. When I got the bill I was only charged for cold drink and not the food, but I insisted that I wanted to pay for the food. But the behaviour of the manager was so rude he made it look like an favour on me that the restaurant has not charged me anything and I should be great full for it. I insisted 2-3 times that I wanted to pay, but the manager was rigid and didn't at all respect my decision. To which I simply paid whatever he wanted and left as I was tired and had no energy to fight with such a rude and dumb person.

It is my request to the management to look into this matter, because this is not only harming your reputation but will definitely cost you your business loss.

Food ordered by me :- Barbeque Sizzler and Crispy chilli babycorn.

Food Review :- The food didn't taste good at all. Veggies were undercooked, Babaycorn lacked flavours, Barbeque sizzler was not at all like a barbequed dish.

Roadside stalls serve better than this. I had to leave the food after a bite or two only, as I didn't feel it edible at all. Worst experience ever had at a restaurant.

I would never recommend it to anyone and would advise people to think a thousand times before visiting the place. Any place with such managerial behaviour must not be tolerated by customers.

Totally dissatisfied, pathetic,...
