I often cross this cafe on my way to tutor at Manicktala, so one weekend when me and my friend had a free schedule, I was determined to explore the place.
It's quaint and rustic, and not something you'd expect inside a quite lane in North Kolkata. The cafe is decorated with so much heart and soul to it. Definitely a place to sit and chill at if your vibe is a slow, cozy evening with soulful piano and classical music tracks playing in the background.
Coming to the drinks first before the food. We had a Iced Mountain Cherry Blossom Tea and a Hazelnut Coffee, the quality of both the drinks had us stupefied. You could taste the brewed tea in the Iced concoction, and the coffee was exactly how the name sounds, steaming, rich, and nutty.
We also shared a plate of Dragon Chicken that was just umami, lip-smacking good. Perfect balance of sweet, spicy and savoury. The Chicken Stroganoff could have a little more flavour and seasoning, but overall, all of it was worth it.
We had skipped lunch that day, and so both of us really gorged on the food forgetting conversation and taking pictures even, which might have made it extra good. Service was really good, each person polite and helping us with suggestions when we were confused about what to order.
Definitely see myself coming back here for the Hazelnut Coffee and Dragon Chicken...

Stepping inside, we were immediately struck by the antiquity that permeates the atmosphere, evoking a sense of nostalgia and historical charm. However, despite its quaint appeal, the cafe's charm was somewhat overshadowed by its tendency to feel overcrowded and claustrophobic, especially during peak hours when all the tables were occupied. The cramped arrangement of the tables in the relatively limited space contributed to this feeling, detracting slightly from the overall dining experience. One of the highlights of the cafe is its impressive variety of teas, catering to the preferences of tea enthusiasts, and I was amply satisfied on that count. Moving on to the culinary offerings, the chicken omelette stood out as a specialty worth trying. The main course dishes - Chicken Stroganoff and Chicken Mexican, also impressed with their generous portions, ensuring a satisfying dining experience. Unfortunately, the dessert experience fell short of our expectations. The caramel custard lacked the desired texture and flavor, leaving a clumsy impression on us seeking a sweet conclusion...
