Our family had a very good affinity to BAR B Q Resturant chain ever since it opened its first joint at Sector V, Salt Lake Kolkata. We used to travel 25 odd km from our residence in Behala for lunch on every celebratiory occassion. In the early days the rush was like crazy. Booking a table during prime hours (1pm to 3 pm) was not accepted and you had to wait after listing your name for a table. I remember one Poila Baisakh we had to wait for 3 hours for a table. After couple of years the chain started expanding with outlets at Park Street and then at Lake Mall However as the number of oulets grew we started some noting degradation in its quality of both food and service. So much so our family allegiance shifted to other resturants and even returning back to good old eateries on grand old Park Street.. In the meanwhile BAR B Q Nation chain went on spreading its outlets in and around Kolkata. Things went on its normal course till we oneday in July 2025, browsing Instagram as usual was struck by an insertion reading "Behala's New Hotspot: Barbeque Nation Now Open" Immediately the search for the location started. With initial clue from modern knowledge Machine Google and subsequent local guides the exact location was detected. And again with an initial apprehension filled with a mix of curiosity we booked a table for two (the only remains of my original family in the city, me and my younger daughter) the next sunday, through their centralised Bengaluru based reservation system. As we walked up the stairs to the near empty but gleaming resturant setup we ran into a bossy looking smart young lady who welcomed us with cordiality and warmth. On her direction we were led to a trade mark BAR B Q Nation table with an arrangement for placing the portable hearth . Slightly reassured with the familiar sight we anxiously waited for the service to start. As things progressed , though we could feel the place was "still in process", the service functionality and food quality was like good old times. Additonally the courtsey level extended by each of the staff member was par excellence. We could find the confidence, we lost couple of years back , coming back strongly.
To check whether the experience last time was akin to the proverbial first flush of Darjeeling tea, or deterioration with time we made a second visit today .
We were simply overwhelmed. To start with a small lift gave us a compfortable ride to the first floor resturant. The same warm welcome from the same bossy young lady (this time wearing a name badge displaying a beautiful name (DALIA) ) .All the remaining staff had the same cordial attitude even though this time the resturant was fairly crowded. We were pleasantly surprised with the addition of a number of delicious items to the weekend buffet menu. The food was sumptuous and their test was really Excellent.
At the departure we were really impressed and overjoyed like finding a long lost first love back that too almost right in...

I recently visited the Barbeque Nation, Behala branch, and I must say — it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish!
The ambience was warm and welcoming, with the signature grill-on-the-table setup creating an engaging and fun dining vibe. The variety of starters was impressive, especially the juicy grilled prawns and tangy chicken wings — perfectly marinated and cooked right in front of us!
What made our experience even more special was the outstanding service, particularly by Mr. Binoy, our server for the evening. He was extremely courteous, attentive, and always had a smile on his face. He ensured our grills were replenished promptly, suggested some must-try items, and even arranged a surprise cake for my father's birthday. It’s rare to find staff who genuinely go the extra mile, and Binoy truly did.
The buffet spread had a great mix of Indian, Asian, and continental dishes. Don’t miss the kulfi station and brownie sizzlers!
Overall, Barbeque Nation Behala delivered not just a meal but a memorable experience — great food, warm hospitality, and service that stands out. Highly recommend for family outings, celebrations, or just when you want to indulge.
Special thanks to Binoy — your friendly nature and...
Read moreI am highly disappointed with the service. Yesterday on 9th September I have booked a table for 10 adults and 5 children of 5 years on account of my son's birthday. It was fine to know that they don't allow people to decorate if the member count is less than 20 which is absolutely. But there were another party with 50 people, they got a personalized place which is fine but the place got so overcrowded that there was a ruckus everywhere. Even an accident has happened where a glass got shattered on floor with such a force that one of my friend got injured. Thanks to lord that she's is fine and also none of the children. It was an accident but my question is why to make it overcrowded when already there is a party with 50 members or more I guess then why to book for another 10-15 members. Because of the overcrowded situation all the servers, manager and other staffs got perplexed and were unable to serve us with the starters properly, After I got agitated they have started to serve us. So yes before you plan for any event with 10-20 members ask them repeatedly or it will be better to not book. Because this overcrowded and ruckus situation have given me a massive headache to even njoy properly. It was mu Son's 5th birthday but I couldn't able to celebrate...
