We went for lunch in the Chinese Food Corner, which is located beside Asoka Cinema Hall in Manton. The food here is quite delicious but I have to say it's a bit expensive but then again the quantity for everything we ordered was quite good. Every item on the menu is very much sufficient for two people. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also good enough. There is A.C. available but the lighting could be better. It felt a bit dark inside the restaurant for my liking. The sitting is alright. The service from the waiter is quite good. Definitely deserves the tip we gave for everything he did, going up and down the stairs bringing our food and everything we needed. The problem was with the payment. Their UPI was not working which was a big minus point. I had to go to a nearby ATM machine to bring cash and to clear my bill. The owner was good enough to wait. Also he gave us pulse candy when we were leaving which was a nice touch. Now lets talk about the foods we ordered and their quality and taste:
Veg Fried Rice ๐ Rating: 4/5 Price: 180 Excellent in taste. The quality was good. The quantity was sufficient for two people. Price may be a bit high but overall very good.
Veg Hakka Noodles ๐ Rating: 3/5 Price: 120 Good in taste. It tasted better when we mixed it with the sauces. The price is fair. Quantity was sufficient for two people. Overall it's alright, could improve.
Chill Chicken (With Bone) ๐ Rating: 4/5 Price: 180 Good in taste. Chicken pieces (8) were quite big but the gravy could've been better. Quantity wise enough for two people. The price is fair. Overall it's good but could be better.
It's not the first time I've eaten from this place but all my previous orders were takeouts. This is the first time I've dinned here and my experience was good. Hoping it to be even better when we eat here in the...
ย ย ย Read moreChinese Food Corner is one of the oldest restaurants in the Behala area, claiming to have been operating since 1980. A few weeks back, I decided to give them a try and ordered Mix Fried Rice and Chilli Chicken with bone. First of all, the quantity of fried rice was enormous - Iโve rarely seen such a large portion served on a single plate. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. The portions of chicken and prawn in the rice were very limited. The prawns (really small shrimps) seemed old, a little smelly, and some even had white patches of freezer burn. The chicken in the Chilli Chicken also smelled old, especially closer to the bone. I canโt comment on the ambience or service since I havenโt dined in. Strictly on food, I would have rated this a 2, though I hope it was just an off day. However, Iโm giving an extra star because I want the old restaurants in this area to survive. The closure of Canton earlier this year made me quite sad, and I hope CFC improves and...
