Read moreWe dined at Palkhang for a few nights in a row when visiting Leh during our visit in May 2023. Location is ideal, right opposite Tibetan Refugee mkt, but also just at the beginning of the main Leh market. Food is excellent, we tried only the Tibetan / Ladakhi food options - such as noodles, thupka, manchurian and some other local dishes - and not the North Indian paneer etc., and uniformly they were delicious. Both in veg as well as chicken versions. Nicely cooked and presented, the food was consistently good. Also the portions were great and the menu has a great variety to choose from Pricing is pretty reasonable. In 2023, a dinner for two with soups, starters, main courses and multiple Apple Beers - which is excellent by the way - was only INR 750. Service and ambience are worth mentioning too. Think the owner couple - found out they have unique names too Tobden & Palmo - also serve the guests themselves. They’re more than courteous, polite and only too happy to please. Food comes out within 8-10 minutes max. and their pleasing service makes them a great team of course.
All in all, for Ladakhi / Tibetan / Chinese food, Palkhang is NOT TO BE MISSED!! Hugely...
Read moreKeep an eye out for the small red entrance on the street. It’s easy to miss, but you really shouldn’t skip this place. The atmosphere was cozy and the Tibetan food was delicious. What set this place apart though, was the service from the staff. They were patient with me and explained every dish I asked about and made recommendations based on my preferences. They also made sure to tell me how much food came in each dish so I would order too much, insisting that there’s no need to spend money on food I wouldn’t be able to eat. ❤️ I can’t wait to come back to Palkhang during my short...
