The Zila is a handsome eye-catching restaurant on the first floor of a fine, traditional building in Leh's Main Market. It's difficult to miss it's beautiful wooden balcony from street-level. I thought it was a pricey restaurant from its looks, and so I dodged revewing it for over two weeks, till I couldn't resist anymore. Zila is all colour, wood and warm tones, with a variety of seating. From a cozy, intimate, sequestered space with a low table and floor mattresses, to bar stools beside a narrow running table in the balcony. In between you've wooden tables and chairs placed against huge glass windows with beautiful light streaming in. The Zila's is a restaurant that takes time to absorb its beautiful surroundings and ambience. After which, I ran through a menu of vegetarian and non-vegetarian Ladakhi and Chinese dishes, and ordered an egg thenthuk. The thenthuk was an absolute delight, full of fresh vegetables and soft dumplings in addition to the eggs. I was in thenthuk heaven - total foodie ecstasy. Before leaving I promised myself to come again and check out their cappuccino and indulge in people-watching from their...

If you’re in Leh and craving delicious, freshly prepared food with a warm and welcoming vibe, Zila Kitchen is an absolute must-visit. The food here is simply outstanding — every dish is packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with love and attention to detail.

We tried a mix of local Ladakhi dishes and popular Indian options, and everything was spot on. The momos were perfectly steamed, with juicy filling and delicate wrappers. The Thukpa was comforting and full of rich, hearty flavors, ideal for the chilly Leh weather. Their paneer dishes and butter naan also hit the mark — fresh, satisfying, and cooked to perfection.

The ambiance is cozy and clean, with a friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Service was prompt, and they were happy to explain the menu and offer great recommendations.

Zila Kitchen offers a perfect mix of taste, hospitality, and value — definitely one of the best food spots in Leh. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic, quality meals during their...

Twice-Visited Delight

I had the pleasure of dining at Zila's kitchen twice recently in last two weeks, and both visits were nothing short of amazing. From the moment we stepped in, the service was impeccable. The staff greeted me warmly and ensured I had everything I needed throughout my meal. Their attentiveness and friendliness made each visit memorable.

Now, let's talk about the food—simply awesome. Each dish was a burst of flavor and expertly prepared. The variety on the menu catered to all tastes, and every item I tried was very tasty. From appetizers to desserts, the quality and presentation of the food were consistently top-notch.

This restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with fantastic service and delicious food. I highly recommend it and can't wait for...

Visited during our trip to Leh. Randomly searched with Ladakhi food, and found the place. It's just in the middle of Leh Market. First day the owner suggested us to try their Mutton Sapta with Tingmo Bun, and mutton momos. Both the dishes were delicious. The Mutton Shabta was too good that after completing our rest of Ladakh trip, we had a night stay in Leh, and we again dropped into the restaurant for a dinner. This time we ordered Mutton Sapta and Mutton Shabarlay. The Shabarlay is something like a big fried momo, but the filling was really good and the quantity of the filling is really generous. Only cons I saw is, they have very limited staff, therefore serving the order is little delayed. So if you're planning to visit the place, do have some time in hand.
