Amritsari is a pure veg outlet located in wakad and serves Street food and North India cuisines. I really love places which have basic setup but are really clean. They have their own dairy as well so all the dairy products used over here are super fresh. They serve food in desi style in simple steel plates which is pretty inviting. I was lucky enough to explore few selected dishes from their extensive menu.
Starters / Chaat Dishes
Aloo Chaat [RS 65]: Deep fried bite sized aloo cubes done with minimal spices was good in taste, I would have loved the preparation with a bit more seasoning. #Recommended
Dahi Bhalle [Rs 75]: Dahi Bhalel a.k.a Dahi Wada served in truly north Indian style was superb in taste, the dahi was not too sweet and the wada was nicely soaked and was moist. It was garnishes with few pomegranate seeds, mint chutney and tamarind chutney. The flavors were quiet balanced. #Highlyrecommended
Bhalle Papdi Chaat [Rs 80]: The ingredients were quite similar to that of dahi bhalla, dahi bhalla was served in an edible potato basket with some papdi discs, topped with coriander and tamarind chutney. It was superb in taste. Worth a try. Don’t Miss. #Highlyrecommended
Tikki Chole: A huge aloo tikki covered with a thick chole based gravy along with assorted spices was also excellent in taste, I just found the tikki to slightly hard to break. Nevertheless it didn’t fail to impress me. #Recommended.
Mains : Combo Meals & Thali
Puri / Bedmi Puri Aloo Sabzi [Rs 105]: North Indian style aloo sabji was served along with regular puri and bedmi puri (urad dal based puri) was good in taste. The aloo sabji was slighty watery but the puris were well done.
Amritsari Kulche Chole [RS 130]: Chole sabji was served along with aloo stuffed kulcha was superb in taste. It was medium spicy, the kulcha was extremely well done with mild spices and was well roasted. #Highlyrecommended
Chole Bhature [RS 115]: Thick and rich pindi or amritsari chole sabji was served along with 2 huge bhature and was superb in taste, the oil from bhature was well drained and the chole sabji was one of the bests which I have had, nice flavors and well blended masala. #Highly Recommended
Missi Roti Palak Paneer [RS 185]: Exceptional, Palak Paneer sabji was served along with missi roti which was slightly crispy and extremely well done, the paneer sabji had a thick palak puree done with mild spice along with fresh and soft paneer cubes, the texture was amazing and it was truly delicious. #Musthave #DontMiss.#StarDish
Punjabi Thali [RS 195]: This is a huge spread which consists of 3Chapatis / 2 Plain Paratha, Dry Veg / Dal, Paneer Gravy / Pindi Chole,Dal Makhani / Rajma, Rice, Boondi Raita, Salad, Papad, Sweet. Dal Makhani was excellent in taste, it was prepared using some spices which are usually not seen in dal makhani, I loved this version of dal makhani a lot, it was rich and creamy in taste, Paneer Methi sabji was highly impressive with strong flavors of methi, Boodi raita paratha and dry sabji was nicely done. #Highlyrecommended
Masala Chaas [Rs 20]: Light, refreshing, perfect in consistency, the spices used were nicely blended, superb in taste. #Musthave

🔺AMBIENCE (2/5): The place is not about ambience but all about the authentic (well as close as possible) Amritsari food. The restaurant has a good seating space with an outer area and a first floor as well to accommodate larger groups. The ambience is simple and uncluttered. It's a place where you can come to enjoy some wholesome delicious Punjabi food at cheap price, so the focus here is just food, and thus my low rating of the ambience.
🔺FOOD (5/5): ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! I think this is the best Amritsari/Punjabi food I've had so far in Pune. The place simply amazes you with the lip smacking food that will leave you licking your fingers.
✔️To begin with, we had the basket chat, chole tikki, dahi bhalla etc. and I was simply mesmerized by the taste of them all. The chats were of similar style as we find in Delhi-Punjab and the rest of North India and quite unlike what we get at most bhelpuri vendors in Pune. The chutneys used were so fresh and full on flavors. The chole tikki was my favorite out of all and I simply loved the burst of flavors in it. ✔️Then came the mains. We tried the Paneer cheese paratha, Amritsari chhole kulche, bedmi poori aloo sabzi, chur chur naan thali, laccha paratha thali, makke di roti with palak paneer phew! I was blown by the taste and portion sizes of each of these. Especially loved the chole puri and bedmi puri with aloo served here. I had these while I visited Amritsar and believe me, these are the closest I could find to the original in Pune. The chur chur naan was a delectable delight, perfectly crumbly with dollops of butter and served with a variety of veggies like methi paneer, aloo matar, chole, rice, dal makhani, salad, raita, gulab jamun to make it a complete meal. One thali is enough for two and will leave you feeling heavy. The makke di roti here is pure love and you'll want to come here again just to gorge upon this beauty. The way the chole are prepared here also varies according to the dish ordered, in a way that they have an Amritsari chole that are served with puri and are a little lighter on taste and spice while those served with parathas are Pindi chole that have a different taste and have a thicker consistency and richer taste. The gulab jamuns here are huge, almost the size of a small orange and are melt in the mouth soft. One piece will make you want to reach for another and you'll be left wanting for more.
🔺SERVICE (3/5): We visited here on a rainy weekend afternoon and the place was bustling with people so the service was a bit slow, but the staff was warm and were trying their best to feed the patrons. The owner is a very warm and friendly person and the way he spoke at length about the food he tries to serve and preparation involved therein speaks volumes of the passion and energy he invests in making the place what it is.
🔺VALUE FOR MONEY (5/5): For such good food, the prices are very pocket friendly and there's no compromise on quality ,also the quantity will leave you full in no time. I'll surely...
