Visit of the date 31st August 2024 Visited this place for Dinner. This place is known for misal pav but I visited the establishment at dinner time, hence I tried thier other menu. They serve maharashtrian food along with some South Indian breakfast items.
Atmosphere/Place (4/5): Place is easy to locate on maps and on even on street. Free 2 wheeler street parking is available, But for 4 wheeler it is difficult to find parking. Ambience and seating is cozy and simple. Wall painting and decor relating to name of the restaurant and maratha history, like statues and paintings of Ch. Shivaji Maharaj are good. Even the plates and utensils on which your food is served are of brass.
Service (4/5): Servers are fast and attentive, But there is a scope for improvement on being more hospitable. They attend you, take orders from you immediately but they can be more hospitable, and can serve you with a smile.
Food (4/5): I don't know if any previous patrons noticed or not, But the overall taste of food inclined towards the solapuri food taste palate. Good Use of peanut powder (शेंगदाण्याचे कूट) in the dishes will make you enjoy the this particular taste palate. They serve everything fresh and very hot.
I had ordered Shev bhaji thali and Poori bhaji.
Shev Bhaji Thali (4/5): The Shev Bhaji thali consists of Shev bhaji, Bhakri, Thecha, Shengdana chutney, pickle and kanda limbu. What I loved the most about the thali was the jowar Bhakri. Bhakri was very good, well cooked, soft and most importantly not dry at all. This is how a Bhakri should be. Shev bhaji also tasted good. Thecha and Shengdana chutney were on point too.
2.Poori bhaji (3/5): The poori bhaji was served with 5 regular sized pooris, which are enough for one person on dinner hunger. Bhaji tasted really good, But aloo was very less and more of the gravy was served. Also the poories were very oily, more oiler than they should have been. If poories were less oily, I might have given one more star.
If you want to try maharashtrian food in this locale, you can definitely choose...
Read moreWe went as a group of six people for dinner at Peshwai Misal and tried several dishes including their signature Peshwai Misal, Zunka Bhakri, Shev Bhaji Thali, and extra butter Pav Bhaji. Among the items we ordered, we really enjoyed the misal for its taste along with the batata vada and gulab jamun that came with it, which felt like a nice addition. The zunka bhakri was also quite good and filling, something we all appreciated. However, the misal itself was on the much spicier side than we would have preferred. It would be better if they offered two options for the rassa – one normal and one extra spicy – so customers can decide based on their liking. Also, the farsan used in the misal was not of good quality as it became soggy very quickly once mixed with the rassa, which was disappointing especially considering the price point of ₹175 per plate.
On the downside, the extra butter pav bhaji turned out to be a complete disappointment and was possibly the worst pav bhaji we have tried anywhere, which was surprising given the reputation of the place. The Shev Bhaji Thali was also just average and leaned too much on the spicy side, making it hard to enjoy. For us, the misal and zunka bhakri stood out, but the rest of the menu needs improvement in taste balance and preparation quality.
In terms of ambiance, the seating arrangement is okay, but the overall cleanliness of the place needs more attention. Parking is also an issue as they don’t have a proper facility and only roadside parking is available, which makes it difficult to visit by car during peak hours. Overall, this is a place worth visiting mainly for misal and zunka bhakri, but definitely not recommended for pav bhaji. With some improvements in spice balance, farsan quality, cleanliness, and better variety in flavors, the experience could be...
Read moreThe Peshwai Hotel in Pimple Saudagar is a lovely place to enjoy authentic Maharashtrian food at very reasonable rates. Known for its delicious misal pav, this restaurant has something special for everyone. I recently visited with my friend and had a very good experience.
We ordered shev bhaji and bhakri, and the taste was absolutely fantastic. The bhaji was perfectly spiced, and the bhakri was fresh and soft. To complement our meal, we tried the sweet lassi, which was thick, creamy, and refreshing—a perfect end to a fulfilling meal.
The ambiance of the restaurant is simple yet comfortable, making it a good choice for families, friends, and even solo diners. The staff was polite and ensured that our food was served promptly. They even took care to explain the dishes when we had questions.
The Peshwai stands out for its delicious food, reasonable pricing, and warm hospitality. If you are a fan of Maharashtrian cuisine or just love trying traditional authentic dishes, this place is worth a visit. Whether it’s for the famous misal pav or other menu items like shev bhaji, you’re sure to leave with a happy heart and a full stomach. A good place for all...
