We dined at this restaurant on September 7th, and unfortunately, the experience was less than satisfactory. Upon arrival, there was no one to greet us, and we later discovered that the receptionist, who was casually chatting on the phone outside, was responsible for this task.
After settling in and placing our order, we faced an extended wait of over 45 minutes without any update on our food. We had to actively seek out someone to inquire about our order. The waiter, who finally approached us, mentioned that only the salad was ready. Unfortunately, this was not the salad we ordered, and it was missing feta cheese as advertised on the menu.
After another 20 minutes of waiting, we decided to cancel the main dishes due to the excessive delay and poor quality of the salad. The waiter apologized but noted that "most of the staff were having lunch" during our visit and that "the chef forgot to add the feta cheese". This explanation did not sit well, especially considering there were only two tables occupied.
In the end, the mains was served and the food quality was atrocious. "Fine and Dine" became more like "Street food". As a complimentary tiramisu was packed and gifted and we were not charged for the unsatisfactory salad. While the staff tried to make amends, the service and food quality left much to be desired. It seems the restaurant struggles with managing service efficiently, particularly during peak times.
Never visiting again or...

I visited AhavAh on June 19, 2025, expecting a fine-dining experience and walked away hungry, disrespected, and appalled.
I ordered the chicken satay, which arrived barely marinated, undercooked, and looked more like boiled chicken lazily smeared with curry. I asked the cook to please cook it properly. But in less than 5 minutes, the dish was returned to me — the exact same piece, still raw inside, just packed in a box.
When I told the waiter it was still not cooked, he lied, claiming the chicken had been fried again. I knew it hadn’t, and yet he refused to take any action. No apology. No replacement. Nothing.
The tiramisu was equally disappointing — just a mound of frosting, lacking layers, texture, and any flavor you’d expect from a proper dessert.
Despite not eating a single bite, they were quick to hand me the bill and clearly just wanted to shut down for the night. I went to a nearby chinese restaurant thereafter and had better food for half the price. The entire staff was dismissive, unhelpful, and unprofessional throughout the experience.
This place is an insult to the concept of fine dining. I left hungry, frustrated, and appalled. I will never go back, and I’ve already told everyone I know...
Read moreI recently stayed at Ahavah Shillong, and I must say it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hospitality was top-notch — the staff were courteous, helpful, and always had a warm smile on their faces.
The room was spotless, spacious, and well-furnished, with all the modern amenities one could ask for. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had a peaceful sleep every night. I especially appreciated the beautiful city view from the balcony.
The food at the in-house restaurant was delicious, with a wide variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The buffet breakfast was particularly impressive — fresh fruits, hot items, and great coffee.
Location-wise, the hotel is perfectly situated — close to shopping areas, tourist attractions, and easily accessible by public transport.
Overall, I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area — whether for business or leisure. I’ll definitely return on...
