It's been a while since I've had a good Butter Chicken & so today while the plan was to have Chinese, which didn't work out, so I dragged my friends to Yalana Hotel. I think the last time I ate here was when I was still studying. They were a little sceptical since we don't usually hear people talk about this place any longer. They don't have thalis so it would have been a waste to order so much food & not being able to eat it alone. Today we were three of us.
We stepped inside & it had the same interiors as how I remembered. The dining space was big & it was empty until a group of students came in. The furnishings did look a bit run down but the cutlery were still on point.
I had a look at the menu & it had Indian, Chinese & Continental items on it with the latter being not available. Anyway I came here for the Butter Chicken so along with that I ordered a Mutton Kheema Kadai & Aloo Gobhi. Then I thought of ordering naan but went for one each of Cheese, Paneer & Plain Kulcha. At this point I was having tendencies to go overboard so I wanted a rice as well. I ordered for the first time in my life a Chicken Pulao. It's always been Veg or Peas pulao or a Biryani.
The food came after 20 mins & was neatly presented. The breads looked awesome & they were very good. The Butter chicken had so much flavor & was just so satisfying. The pulao was also very nice. The aloo gobhi tasty. The mutton though not bad was not keema but were instead small chunks of meat.
The Butter Chicken was so worth the visit. Overall a good meal.

Read moreI am a regular visitor to this restaurant as it's not very far from my work place. We regularly have small parties and official lunches here. The restaurant is a cosy place and the food is reasonably priced. The seating is good enough for different occasions, there are the straight tables that are good for official gathering, small tables for couples and a round one in the corner that's good for families...
Read moreI first visited this restaurant in 2011 while I was studying at St. Anthony's School. I was immediately struck by the amazing food, and I started visiting the restaurant at least twice a month. As I got older, I visited less often, but the quality of the food never diminished. Even though I now live in a state with amazing food everywhere, I still miss...
