Alfredo's — Restaurant in Mumbai

This is one our usual eating places. The margherita pizza is legendary. Simple, yet amazingly delicious. Must tries are the sizzler (we usually go for the barbecue sauce, but others have been equally good). We've spent many evenings guzzling food (as the beer lovers try quenching their never ending thirst). This particular review is from a week ago, we'd not gone there for a long time and decided to drop by. We did not factor in the weekend, and peak dinner time. It was packed to capacity. After a brief 10min wait we got a table in the outside section. Their seating can be classified into three sections essentially, there's one outside section, and then two indoors, I'll explain why I saw two indoors, there is an elevated place too, which is ideal if you have a group of 8 or 10 and you can take the entire upstairs for yourself. Of course, indoors has air-con, outside has the smoking, and for those few weeks in winter, the chilled out atmosphere. Sadly, these were not one of those weeks. The huge fans tried their level best to provide respite from the heat, the mojitos made up for what they couldn't. This particular time we tried the pizza, which was good, as usual. The pasta (penne, white sauce) fell short of our expectations, probably because of the rush (that's really no excuse, but it has been unfailing all through these years, so I am more than willing to give them that slack on this very rare occurrence) and a sizzler that they customized to our liking. Also had a couple of mocktails, which again fell right in the as-expected range. It is an ideal place to spend the evening, consistently good food, good vibe. Valet parking is available next door. Peak dinner time Prithvi Cafe was full and I needed a good alternative. That's when I headed to Alfredo's. It ticked all the boxes... (or so it seemed) ✔️ Outdoor seating ✔️ Beautiful ambiance ✔️ Italian food (my favorite)

AMBIANCE Beautifully lit outdoors is what drew me to this place. Obviously, I chose outdoor seating space and we got a table almost instantaneously (lucky me!😁). But that was the only quick thing that happened around there😑

FOOD 🚫 Soft Shell Tacos Combination of Pineapple salsa and guacamole lured me into ordering this "so-called" fancy dish. Don't get tricked by the rosy description as it was used only to beautify it and added no taste. Soft tacos stuffed with cottage cheese is all I got. Almost flavourless, to sum it up. #Avoidable

🚫 Veg Paprika The menu is quite exhaustive when it comes to vegetarian options in Pastas/Baked dishes. This was supposedly veggies baked in tomato base but it turned out to be vegetables baked in cheese. Again, bland and tasteless. #avoidable

SERVICE The waiter takes forever to show up at your table even to take the order. There is no attentiveness and you have to continue waving to get noticed. Understaffed or not, the service is quite slow.
