This is a franchisee outlet of the famed Bhau Wada Pav, Bhandup West. The original shop is located just outside Bhandup Railway station on the western side and sells only Wada pav. / Bhaji Pav. The franchisee has added some more items to its menu like Misal.
Location: Its located on the busy Netaji Subhash Road [N S Road]. Take a right turn as you exit Mulund railway station on the western side. Keep going straight till you cross a Hanuman tample on your left. You will see a McDonald's outlet on the opposite side of the road. Take a left at the end of the road & keep going straight till you come to the first bus top. Behind that bus stop is this place.
Food: They serve many fried items like Batata Wada, Samosa, Bhajia and Misal. But the star attraction is the Wada Pav, just as the name of the shop suggests.
You have to buy a coupon first to buy a Wada Pav. They have a huge cauldron right opposite the entrance where Wada are fried constantly.
The size of the Wada is pretty big, fits the Pav perfectly. I have come across many stalls where the Pav is twice the size of the Wada. The Wada is rightly spiced but without causing any "after effects". Surprisingly I also found the Wada to be a bit crispy as well. I had 2 Wada Pav's and both of them were crispy, maybe some in-house secret.
They use an orange coloured garlic chutney made with loads of scraped coconut which tastes out of the world. They have also put up a notice that patrons should not ask for extra chutney. I would not mind buying some extra chutney, its that good.
Do drop in, have 2 Wada Pav's and one cup of tea / a soft drink and one is done for half a day.
