Birdy's Bakery & Patisserie — Restaurant in Mumbai

Birdy's cakes are known for their good quality, so on that presumption, I went to their outlet on 22nd evening and ordered a Birthday cake of 1/2 kg. While me and my friend were deciding on the type of flavour, I mentioned to my friend that Chocolate Fudge cake would be nice. On of the assistants at counter told us that they had good feedback about that cake. When asked about the consistency of the cake, he explained that it was made of one layer of Fudge and one layer of chocolate, all over. So I ordered one fresh one to be sent to me on the next day 23 rd between 1 and 2 pm . He took my ph. no. and address. I paid the full amount Rs 750.in advance. In a hurry I forgot to take their ph. no. The next day at 1.30 I realised that I didn't have their ph no. With great difficulty I succeeded in getting their no. After 2 phone calls to different people I got a call from them. To cut a long story short,the cake turned out to be a BIG let down. Firstly it didn't taste as if it had been specially made. Secondly there was absolutely no taste of Fudge in it . A bit of chocolaty taste only. Even my relatives, one of whose birthday it was, were surprised when I told them it was a Fudge Cholate cake. It’s appalling to see how this place, described as “one of Mumbai’s most iconic premium bakery and Patisserie chains” by the owner Srinidhi Rao treats its employees. Visited this store for 15-20mins in extreme discomfort as the AC wasn’t working.

This “premium” bakery’s AC has been in repair for 15 days now. My issue is not about my discomfort as my experience was all of 20mins at this store. My issue is with the utmost discomfort and inhumane treatment with the employees expecting to work in such conditions.

Not that they complained or cribbed about it and instead were trying to justify the owners. But this definitely was discouraging for me to ever return or recommend it as this is terrible. Hoping the owners do something about it at the earliest and show some level of respect to the team that works so hard for the brand. Surely the “premium” brand can afford to make quick provisions to solve this as slavery thankfully...

I recently ordered a New York chocolate cake from Birdy’s, and it was nothing short of exceptional! From the first bite, I was in chocolate heaven.
