Utsav Cuisine, Powai – Simple, Satisfying, and Safe Choice
So I tried Utsav Cuisine in Powai and honestly, it’s one of those places that doesn’t scream for attention but quietly delivers a decent meal. Not too fancy, not too dramatic just simple Indian food done right.
The ambience is basic but clean. No flashy lights or trendy decor, just a calm and decent dining space where you can sit peacefully and eat without loud music or selfie-crazy crowds. It’s more of a family place than a hangout spot.
We ordered a few North Indian dishes – butter naan, paneer butter masala, dal tadka and jeera rice. The taste was good, nothing out-of-this-world, but definitely satisfying. The paneer was soft and the gravy was creamy. Dal had that homemade touch and the rice was well-cooked. So overall, you won’t be disappointed, but you also won’t be jumping out of your seat with excitement.
Service was fine. Not too fast, not too slow. Staff was polite, answered our questions, and didn’t hover too much.
Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality. You get good value for a peaceful meal without burning your wallet.
So yeah, Utsav is not a place you’d choose for a celebration or a date night, but it’s definitely a safe pick for a casual lunch or dinner when you just want a good Indian meal without any drama. Average overall, but...
Read moreHad an ok experience for dinner we have been for. The manchow soup (was not written in the menu, which I would suggest to add it for the better of the other people) we ordered tasted good. We went for tandoori veg platter as our starters, where only some of the items tasted good, it basically had collection of different veg items grilled in tandoori masala. Some of the items lacked the bite in the masala they marinated hence being bland in taste. Masala papad also too lacked the taste that it should have. The main course and dessert we had, is the reason the resto is getting 4 stars from me because it overcame the deficit. We went for Paneer lababdaar, Panchratna kofta and tandoori roti. The dishes taste very good and was nicely cooked. Desserts we went in for :Gulab Jamun with ice cream, Litchi with ice cream, both score full marks for the taste. Awesome to say the least. Apart from the improvements suggested in above comments , would suggest improvement in service speed which is a bit slow...
