Great Punjab — Restaurant in Mumbai

I had never been to Great Punjab before. I happened to grab the first chance that came my way and tag along with an ex-colleague whom I accidentally met in Powai.

As expected, during lunch time, the restaurant was full and we had to wait for 20 minutes for our turn to come. The place is just cramped with more people moving than it can accommodate.

The waiter turned up after a wait of 15 minutes to take our orders. We ordered Masala Papad, Hara Bhara Kebab, Karari Bhindi, Butter Chicken and Roti.

The Masala Papad and Hara Bhara Kebab came one after the other. But that we were in for a long wait for our food to arrive. We had to remind twice for our order to be served and when it came, the Bhindi and Butter Chicken was served first with the 1st round of Roti. The 2nd round of Roti's took an eternity to come, I mean ETERNITY. We lost interest in the food and left after the 2nd Roti.

Pathetic service and Attitude towards a customer.

I must add that the Karari Bhindi was really nice; crispy fried Bhindi juliennes topped over gravy of tomato. Butter Chicken was on the sweeter side.

But I will remember this experience for the endless wait which was dished out to us in installments.

That's the last I have seen of...

No stars..this place doesn't even deserve to exist let alone get stars..we ordered chicken lahori and butter naan...they charge you 500 bucks for the chicken lahori but only serve gravy, you need to search for the chicken..same story with the naan no butter on the butter naan...Why skimp on the quantity or even the main ingredient ?? Or else don't call it chicken lahori...when I told the server he was quite rude n asked me to let the person at the cash counter know and when I did talk to the person at the cash counter he didn't respond at all..just paid all that money to eat some...

The food was delicious. Especially the dish that we had ordered, Chicken patiyala. They bring you chopped chicken pieces rolled in between an omelette. The quantity is enough for 3 people. Butter roti is the only bread affordable for a casual meal. It's Rs. 35 per piece. My favourite bread, garlic naan (called lehsoon naan here), will cost you Ra. 75 per piece.
