China Valley Restaurant Review
Recently, I had the chance to visit China Valley, a spot that combines a good ambience with the convenience of valet parking. The experience was overall enjoyable, though there were a few hiccups along the way.
Ambience and Service: The ambience at China Valley is inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The service, however, was just okay. The staff was polite, but there was a bit of a mix-up when they brought out the appetizer and soup together, which felt a little rushed.
The Food:
• Chicken Manchow Soup: This was the first dish I tried, and it did not disappoint. The soup was flavorful and just the right level of spicy—perfect for kicking off the meal. • Mongolian Pan Fried Chicken: Next, I went for the Mongolian Pan Fried Chicken. While it was decent, it could have been much better with a touch more seasoning. It felt like it was almost there but just missed the mark slightly. • Chicken Pot Rice: For the main course, I had the Chicken Pot Rice, which turned out to be the highlight of the meal. The rice was well-cooked, the chicken was tender, and the quantity was generous, making it a satisfying dish overall.
Drinks: I ordered a glass of tonic water, which was refreshing, while my partner enjoyed a glass of red wine. The drinks were well-served and complemented the meal nicely.
Final Thoughts: China Valley offers good food in a pleasant setting, though there is room for improvement in the service department. If you’re looking for a place with solid Chinese cuisine and a comfortable atmosphere, it’s worth a visit—just don’t be surprised if your soup and appetizer arrive at...
Read moreThis review is long overdue, by about 20 years if not more! That's how long the family and I have been patrons of both the Prabhadevi and Powai outlets.
Want a snack - order the honey chilli potatoes or steamed momos.
Have a sore throat? Sip on the lemon coriander soup.
Not too hungry? Get the garlic pot noodles.
Don't know what to order? Go to the default Sapo Chicken and Fortune Rice.
We pretty much remember the menu by heart, coz we order in a lot frequently than we would like to admit.
So what's great about China Valley?
China Valley's USP is the 'Desi Chinese' we all love. The portions are generous and the food hits that sweet spot - partly on the palate, partly on the nostalgia.
It's not without various shortcomings.
Does China Valley have the best food - No, great service - debatable, upscale/modern ambience - not at all. But, it does have consistency.
Amongst all the fancy and gimmicky shenanigans of new age restaurants, China Valley has carved a...
Read moreThis was my first time going her and I loved it, it's family friendly and the overall atmosphere is very pretty, I recommend going at night if you can so the place is more vibrant in the afternoon time it's dimly lit but it was still enjoyable. I personally loved the dumplings, it was cooked perfectly and pared with the black-bean sauce that they provide it's just a burst of flavor, another entrée we tired was " Fried pepper chicken" and it was small pieces of chicken coated in a cripy spicy batter and it was fun to have with a side of drinks. Next was burnt garlic noodles and hot pot rice, I would recommend the rice over noodles coz if you are a garlic lover it had very mild flavor which was okay I mean i had it with the black-bean sauce to add that smokiness. They also have a nice selection of mock tails and cocktails. 10/10 would...
