Brunch at Boulevard (Orchid) Mumbai has always been a lovely experience. My last visit prior to yesterday was a couple of years back. Nothing has changed. Ambiance is the same. Service perfect. A couple of changes in The Variety of food. Salad section has become bigger as also the Desserts. Boulevard Brunch is all about Some Indian Chatpatta food. From the Chaat section to the Indian mains, some dishes from the South of Vindhyas (Authentic cereal/Chettinad food) Overall a complete package of punch flavours and balance.
Spread is Hugh - one needs to have a proper look and pick up what he really wants to have. Salad section has got some amazing cold cuts. Also Russian salad/Coleslaw/Hummus/Olives/Pakchoy Stuffed chicken Roulade/asparagus stuffed chicken Roulade/grilled fish and corn salad and mush more.
Once settled we asked for a lovely Kiwi Mocktail. Had the fizz not high on sugar. Perfect to beat the Mumbai heat. Coming to Chaat section - It was Pani Puri (pre plated) served on the table. Had the mint/coriander touch with boondi.Liked it. The Papdi Chaat had the Punch with tamarind/sev/yogurt/onions and garnish of pomegranate. Last but not the Least Sev Puri is a must have. Reminds me of the street food. Full of Punch.
Tried some Fresh Baked Bread along with Hummus and Pita - lovely texture (hummus) Nachos and salsa were made well. Russian salad took me back memory lane. Coleslaw was a bit dry for my taste. Olives (green and Black) made my day. Pickled Onions were icing on the cake. Had the Greek salad which was made well (feta touch)
We were served some Kebabs on the table - Basa marinated with hung curd and cream/mint tasted well. Chicken lollipop was done well. Chicken in Chinese (soy sauce was yum) Paneer and Aloo Tikki served hot tasted good.
Pizzas could have been better however the Indian mains made up for it. Tamarind rice along with Raal Korma (Prawns) this was gravy from South of Vindhyas was a great combination. Bhuna Gosht had a lovely texture. Perfect in spices and flavours. Went well with Naan. Vegetarians have a great choice - Went for a seasonal Mix (southern preparation) Chana and Sukha Aloo with Paneer. All the 4 were made well. Had this with the Naan.
Western section deserved an applause - not much to choose from - Bouquetiere/Exotic vegetables in Saffron sauce and Baked Lasagne are a must try. Chinese they had some noodles along with a chicken in soy sauce and other dishes which I did not try.
This place has a local crowd - they have some amazing Dahi Bhalla/Dhokla and Bhakarwadi for them which can be had. I tried the Dahi Bhalla and Bhakarwadi. Back to the western section - Couscous Royal/Green Salad stew were just perfect in taste. Potato Lyonnaise (French dish) was made well.
Did try the Chicken Stroganoff (a spoon) as well as the Paya Ki Nihari (Lamb) go well with the Biryani Murg Rezala (chicken) was a treat to have with Paratha along with Fish in black bean sauce (they use River soul)
Meal cannot get over without steamed Rice and Daal. Made my day. Papad and Raita went well.
Desserts: didn't try much, but Hot Jalebi was fab. Can't stop having one. Go for it. Apart from this they also had some fresh desserts made - Cup Cakes/ Melon Tart/Morden Leamington/Berry compote with Caramel Mousse and much more.
Overall - this place is worth anytime. It feels like home food. Not oily not spicy. Nothing overpowering and fancy. Sticking to the basics and u are bang on target....

Ambience- one side of first floor is occupied by this restaurant so yes it's really big. Divided into small sections. You can get a lobby view from any table. One side of restaurant they got lovely spreaded buffet . Lighting is bright n fresh. Got mix tables or 2,4,8 covers. Soft music at background was nice.(5/5)
Food- This being a main restaurant of the hotel, it is open 24*7. You either can go for a la carte menu or decide to go with the lavish buffet spread. We decided to hog on buffet which looked really impressive. Buffet consist of soup, salads, farsaan, starters, Chaat counter, main courses, desserts.(5/5)
Soup was the first dish I tastes and was highly impressive with the taste of it. It was seafood clear soup which was made with fish stock, fish chunks, thick sliced celery. Great way to start. Chaat counter had various options like seven Puri, dahi Puri, dahi wada, bhel. You have to order your dish to the chef who was standing on the counter and he will send it to your table. I had a go at dahi Puri which was delicious.
Starters they had paneer Tikka, corn bruschetta, fish fingers, chicken in Asian style. Fish finger was the dish I kept eating for long, fresh fish and crispy enough.
Salad counter had mix of veg and nonveg salads, loved the smoked salmon salad and tuna potato salad. Very rare that I saw a farsaan options in multicuisine restaurant of 5*. They were serving bakerwadi and khokla, I didn't try it though was looking tempting. Same section had options of nachos with in-house cheese sauce.
Main course really had many options. Pasta live counter seemed very busy. I opted for more Indian food as awadhi gosht korma caught my attention. Excellent colour with medium thickness gravy and well cooked lamb in it was heaven with the butter naan (any bread options you like) which they serve on table. Dishes like Pan seared fish with garlic cilantro butter sauce, chicken in black bean sauce were a must try. Coming to rice , I saw Chicken biryani first time itself when was checking the buffet. So took biryani with some for a gravy. Biryani was well made with long grain rice, garnished well with fried onions and had extraordinary aroma of it's own, Enjoyed it.
Dessert section is always said to be the best part of any buffet, it's true. Here they had mix if Indian and continental desserts. Had dark chocolate mousse, kiwi mousse, peach apricot jelly, Chocolate mud cake , strawberry salsa with caramel mousse etc. Had ice cream options along with black current Halwa and...
