The Earth Plate.
India and the cuisines of India are a legacy in itself and diversified to a great extent. South, North, East West all have their own traditions, cultures and Cuisines.
Food is what binds people together. Especially when its made with love and served with love. This is what exactly the " Streets Of India " food festival at Sahara Star is all about.
This was originally kept only till 5th of August but is now extended upto 15th of August.
Trust me when I say this, I could literally experience the street food of atleast the few states I have visited.
There are counters from cities and states like - Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Amritsar, Mathura, Chinese, Hyderabad. You can experience so much under one roof. Amazing isn't it? Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food. Come empty stomach whenever you plan to visit for this festival because there's a lot that they have to offer you.
How's the service like?
The servers are so joyous to serve you. The chefs make you feel good about every cuisine. When it comes to Lucknow and Mathura food, the restaurant has even brought in special experienced chefs from the different states itself. This brings in the exact taste and feel of the food they serve.
MATHURA CHAAT
Here I had the pani puri. The suji puri was amazing. I also had the anda paneer. They actually did not use eggs but the idea was to shape the paneer in such a way that it looks like anda. This is then topped with chutneys and beetroot/carrot julians. I also had a portion of Ragda pattice and Dahi Gujia. Couldn't just control myself seeing such tempting chaat.
MUMBAI VADA PAV & PAV BHAJI
When you hear the word Mumbai, along with thinking of it as City Of Dreams, we definitely think of Vada Pav. So here the pav was butter roasted with a small vada in it. Served with bhajiyas and chutneys. Also not o forget the green chillies. Yumm ! Next I had was Pav bhaji. This could have actually been better. Was not giving me the exact perfect taste of a pav bhaji.
CHENNAI SUKHA CHICKEN WITH NEER DOSA
I just enjoy this lipsmacking delicacy. Good neer dosas are hard to find and here was the right one. The spices in chicken were also a delight. Make sure to have this.
KOLKATA MOMOS & MUGHLAI PARATHA
Momos are always welcomed. The hot steaming momos felt so good. The chicken stuffing was aptly generous and the taste absolutely delicious. Mughlai paratha was a mix of softness and crispness filled with shredded chicken pieces. Served with a mustard chutney which was so similar to what my ancestors used to prepare at home and store it for months to relish. Recommended.
CHINESE Chicken lollypop and noodles. This was a treat too. Lollypops are the right appetisers and noodles had the desi chinese taste.
LUCKNOWI MEAT PLATTER
Here is the real material. This is what you shouldn't miss. Tandoored chicken, mutton and also paneer/mushroom for the vegetarians. There was afghani paneer, zaffrani chicken and so much more. I felt they should also add Tunde kebabs and Galouti kebabs to this Lucknowi menu to complete it.
AMRITSARI KULCHE CHHOLE
This was a little miss. I'm a punjabi and I have a typical taste for kulche, bhaturas and chhole. This can improve.
DESSERTS
There were a wide range of desserts from many states of India. To name a few -
KESAR KALAKAND
KALA JAMUN
ANJEER CUTLET
MIX FRUIT SLICE
BALUSHAHI
MAWA PEDA
MAWA SEP
ANGOORI BASUNDI
BANARASI PEDA
MAWA MASALA PAK
KAJU KATLI
KESAR VATI
BESAN LADDU
ICECREAMS
KULFI FALOODA
The best dessert that caught my fancy and heart was the live Rabdi Jalebi counter. You shouldn't miss this a bit. The perfect Indian dessert for every occasion.
Also to mention, since Sahara Star also has guests from abroad, they even have an International counter serving grilled vegetables and meat and seafood.
I'm sure the team has not missed any part and really made this Streets of India after great research...

Located inside Hotel Sahara Star, this extensive restaurant serves global cuisines giving the customers a profusion of palatable food items.
The staff and management ensured that the social distancing norms were strictly followed and proper precautions were taken during our Sunday brunch. All the safe and secure actions were taken to make sure we had a safe and happy dining experience.
The mocktails, namely virgin Mojito and pina colada were pretty refreshing. We began our buffet with some veg and non-veg salads which were aesthetically presented on the counters. To my pleasant surprise, there was a Shawarma counter. I was amazed that they included this in the buffet. It also consisted of a different variety of mezze. There was a live satay counter which had satays, namely baby corn, tofu, mushroom, chicken, fish, and prawn. We had a few non-vegetarian starters which were Dhunar murgh tikka, Barbeque chicken drumstick, Coconut crumbed fried prawns, Thai garlic prawns, and Chicken 65. Live pasta and soup counter could also be seen. They even consisted of a chat counter which served a variety of chats.
RAAN-E-NAMAK was an altogether separate counter for those with the liking for lamb. Also, the live Kolkata counter was serving Kolkata chicken rolls. For South Indian food fans, Neer dosa was served along with Chicken/Mushroom sukka.
Dimsums were just yum in taste, especially the prawns and chicken ones along with the spring onion and coriander sauce. Just loved the heavenly taste altogether!
Coming to the main course:
There was a different variety of cheese, bread & grilled meat. The meat that could be found were, Oven roast whole chicken with red wine jus, Dry fruit stuffed lamb roulade with pan jus, Classic mix seafood Thermidor, Herb-crusted Tenderloin steak, to name a few. In the Indian Main course, we had a variety of delectable items like dal makhani, paneer butter masala, Kashmiri dum pulao, gosht dum biryani, bhuna gosht, dum ka murgh, etc. I must say their main course preparations were really commendable, never have I ever tasted such a delectable main course present in any of the buffets. That is what sets their Star Sunday Brunch Buffet a class apart! Every item on the menu is so well prepared and tastes incredibly delicious !!!
For Desserts - I have a sweet tooth, so for me, it was almost heaven looking at the variety of beautiful desserts they had to offer. It was strawberry themed, so there were a plethora of strawberry-based desserts. Each dessert in itself looked so innovative. They even had a strawberry dessert by the name of angoori strawberry gulab jamun, that is such an innovative concept! Overall, I just felt short of appetite to try the entire variety of desserts they had to offer but I did try plenty of them and I was really impressed. The ones I really loved were Chocolate and strawberry Gateaux, Strawberry and cherry Gateaux, Strawberry Velvet, Tiramisu, Strawberry Macaroons, etc.
Overall, my experience at The Earth Plate was enjoyable to the core and I totally loved the experience they had to offer. I plan to definitely return soon for the lavish and palatable food they got to offer! Amazing hospitality, preparations, atmosphere, and totally...
