BOX8 - India's Largest Desi Meals Brand — Restaurant in Mumbai

Craving for some desi meal, I opted for Box 8 delivery and the delivery to the place was 14 minutes earlier than the expected time which was wow along with the warm food and perfect spill-proof packing. They have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options and the packing which they provide is microwave-friendly boxes which came with spoons, tissue-paper etc so we don’t have to rush to your kitchen after delivery.

Below is the summary of what we ordered and how it was:

Superfit Paneer Salad – With an amazing aroma, this was a good start to the meal. It contained a Freshly tossed salad comprising of grilled low fat paneer, lettuce, baby-corn, olives, jalapenos, capsicum and golden corn with low-fat garlic yoghurt.

Dal Makhani Meal – We opted for Rice with the authentic Dilli-Wai Dal Makhani, along with rajmah, chocolate brownie, salad and green chutney which was perfectly packed in the box along with spoon and tissue paper. It was tasty.

Dilli Rajmah Meal – When it comes to Rajmah, they have nailed it. We opted to try it with rice along with dal makhani, chocolate brownie, salad and green chutney. Rajmah Chawal is one of my favourite combination and I so loved its taste.

Spicy Paneer Meal – a spicy paneer in mughlai gravy which we opted with parathas, rajmah, chocolate brownie, salad and green chutney again all packed nicely in the take-away meal container along with spoon and tissue paper. I liked its taste.

Paneer Makhani Meal – A tasty makhani cury with paneer cubes which we opted with parathas, rajmah, chocolate brownie, salad and green chutney again all packed nicely in the take away meal container along with spoon and tissue paper. This was great with authentic taste of paneer makhani which was one of the best dishes in the menu and went well with those parathas as well as rice.

Iced-Tea – A perfect drink to go with the meal.

Masala Lemonade – Giving a refreshing hit to the taste buds, masala lemonade never fails.

Overall, one of the best outlet for quick food delivery which is tasty and warm. I must say that their tawa parathas are so delicious and never ever had I expected that they will be so good and soft. A great delivery place to have food which is pocket friendly as well as deliciously tasty with a nice quantity to fill your stomach with ease.

On a lazy Sunday evening, we decided to order food at home rather than stepping out. Box8 was a name heard and seen many times but never tried, so we gave it a shot, wanting to have something new. The order placement and delivery was a breeze, the food arriving well in time. We started off with the wraps, Mayo Tikki and Veggie Patty Wrap. Both were good, but I liked the latter more, being spicier and the mix of various veggies making it even more tastier. The paratha used for the wraps was lovely, though felt just a tad dry. Up next was the Bombay Special Sandwich, looking very much like a Subway, but far easier on the taste buds. From the multigrain bread to the veg tikki, everything about it was just spot on. I highly recommend this one. Finally, we opened the box containing Shahi Paneer Biryani. Made with basmati rice, grilled paneer tikkas as well as mushrooms, it was a total letdown, being quite tasteless, no spice to it either. The raita did nothing to improve it, the biryani gets a thumbs down from me. To sum up then, Box8 offers excellent value for money, by and large quite tasty fares, in generously sized portions. I am inclined to try more items on their menu, especially their meals, I shall update this review once...

Worst ever experience of ordering a food online. Ordered 6 sandwiches for guests around 8:50 pm, followed up with their call center twice to realize that food is already dispatched and will reach in no time. Even at 10:00 pm there was no delivery hence called back again. Again a false commitment that they will deliver in next 10 minutes. Waited and again called call centre, this time reply was that there was a technical issue because of which order was never punched into the system.

Hence, till this time all commitments were series of lies.We Finally had to make alternate arrangements of food for guests at 10:30 pm. Moreover, there is no refund received yet for the cancelled order. Ridiculous box 8 ! promise to never order from you...
