Many of my friends suggested me to visit China Bistro because of the variety of options they provide in their lunch buffet. All the starters were freshly prepared and were good to taste. The scope of improvement that I think is that there is not much variety for Starters in the veg Buffet as the people who wish to have the non veg buffet can also have the starters from the veg buffet.

Veg Buffet Food Items

Starters

Tomato Soup-It was freshly made and had a blend of flavours. It consisted of small pieces of tofu and some parsley

Vegetable Wontons-They were freshly served directly from the kitchen but the only thing that bothered me that the filling was not that great

Oregano French Fries-They were great to taste but I think there should have been something else instead of serving Frech fries when a person is paying around ₹520+Tax

Vegetable Dumplings-They were great but had a generic taste rather than some spice or a blend of different flavours

Main Course

Vegetables in Garlic Sauce-It was good to taste, bit spicy and not warm enough

Vegetable Fried Rice-They were quite fresh and good to taste.

Noodles-The noodles were good but if were to compare it with the noodles at any other place then I would say that I have had better kind of noodles elsewhere

Manchurian Patty in gravy-It had a great taste but was not warm enough.Compared to the starters I expected the main course dishes to be warm too but sadly they weren't.

Tofu in Garlic Sauce-It was good to taste and a bit spicy

Vegetable Sushi-If you are a vegan and still want to try sushi,go for it.It consisted of vegetable fillings like carrot and beetroot

Desserts

1.Brownie-There were small brownie pieces which also had some nuts. There was an option for people to dip the brownie into the hot chocolate fountain. In all the brownie tasted good with the hot chocolate

2.Custard Cake Pudding-The presentation was so attractive that one could not resist to not take the Custard Cake Pudding. It had a great taste but there could be an improvement in terms of the quantity served

3.Darsaan-It was a bit cold and not much sweet. The presentation was not that good. So,there can be an improvement as I could see people were preferring other desserts rather than Darsaan

4.Custom Sundae-There was an option for everyone to prepare their own sundae with any toppings they wanted. There were three ice cream options available -Vanilla,Strawberry and Chocolate. The toppings had options like Chocolate and Vanilla Chips, strawberry jelly and nuts

The arrival of christmas brings with it some of really exciting comfort dishes, and China Bistro shows their festive spirit with a special menu designed for this jovial occasion.

This outlet is located at sion trombay road at chembur in oasis vicinity. The restaurant offers a spacious ambience with furnished decor that gives luxurious vibe to the place. The chinese artifacts and paintings hung over walls express the asian look of the place complimenting the cuisines here.

The menu here is quite expansive in Asian and oriental cuisines that majorly includes Thai, Korean and Chinese dishes. These asian cooking methods are implemented in the newly launched christmas menu, that mainly focuses on delicious variations in duck and turkey meats, with a taste that tends to be more on the sweeter side.

For the starters Cilantro Duck Pancake, are actually a spring roll variety with filling of duck meat sautéed in a sweetish appetizing mixture, pretty decent to have. Turkey tod prik pon, bite size turkey pieces tossed in onion, garlic and chillis that will spice up your umami leaving a tempting after taste that will make you call more for more.

Clay Pot Roasted Duck in Rambutan Curry for main courses is a little too sweet in taste with flavours of rambutan, a lychee like fruit. The curry is aromatic with lemongrass infused with vibrant appetizing flavours. The combination surely makes this worth a try.

Crispy noodles with duck and poo choi is one surely not to be missed out on, unlike the rest this one has a hot and spicy flavour of black bean sauce. The crisp noodles on top give a nice crunch to this making the dish appetizing.

Turkey Green Fried Rice, isn't your your regular thai green curry, the gravy in which the sticky rice is cooked has sweet taste to it with a hot aftertaste making things quite exciting, turkey meat really tender to taste.

The desserts here are something not to be missed upon, the Buddha's Fu has a really pleasing table side presentation with caramel sauce topped over mango putting and sprikled with coffee powder from a gong. The flavour of mango is very fresh and tastes just like having mango pulp.

Chocolate Tsunami is aan overload of chocolate that will definitely give you a sugar rush after having that, the thick chocolate mousse filled with nuts is poured over with rich chocolate sauce. This alone is enough to get to filled up.

The overall contrast in flavours on the Christmas menu isn't much woth every dish having a sweet flavour in it, but apart from there is varying aromatic flavours in each to keep...

China Bistro located in oasis premises at Chembur Deonar highway is a fabulous place serving authentic Chinese food from years now. It has been a first choice for most of family dinners and get together for all Chinese food lovers. I recently learnt about their dumpling and baos festival that they are hosting currently and couldn't resist to try the rarely found authentic dumplings. Although I was never a bao lover but the other day my visit to china bistro changed the interest for baos.

Starting with their dumplings, they have good menu with 3 veg and 3 non veg dumplings to select from. We stared with edamame truffle from their veg dumpling which came with good portion of 6 pieces. The dumpling were perfectly steamed and very soft with veggies filled in edamame paste. From the non veg dumpling I chose for chicken pok choi sui mai and I experienced how dumplings must be made in China. It was chicken filled and wrapped with pok Choi leaf which I had for first time and tasted too yum. Also tried the Shangai chicken dimsum which was heavily stuffed with minced chicken and was indeed filling while giving a good hit for taste buds. I was a bit hesitant on trying bao knowing I don't Share love for them and hence only otder for one jackfruit bao between 2. The 3 pieces of bao that was delivered looked very tempting for its filling. With the first bite itself I realized the baos are super fresh with superiors bread quality that was very soft. The small pieces of jackfruit were tossed in hoisin chilli sauce and were one of my favorite here after having a few bites.

With a little space left to try out more food items we went for sautéed veggies which had zucchini, babycorn, brocolli and mushroom sautéed in ginger chilli sauce. It gave real feel of chilli and were a good try.

Desserts : After a scrumptious meal we dint have place for dessert but the server highly recommended to try their Buddha's fu which is one of their signature dish originated from China. It looked fancy and tempting with mango pudding. Alongside was a conch shell filled with caramel sauce that goes on top of pudding and had choclate powder filled in a ringing bell. It was beautiful looking dessert plate that even tasted yum.

Chocolate tsunami is another highly recommended dessert here which had a choclate brownie that's topped with hot choclate sauce. The melting brownie with hot choclate sauce was a lovely bite.

The hospitality here was great. The server snd manager really guided us nice to pick the best from the best. Don't miss out on their dimsum and...

Our group of six recently visited China Bistro, drawn in by its reputation and positive reviews. While the experience had some highlights, it also left us with mixed feelings. Here’s a detailed breakdown: Ambience: The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, with a good vibe that set the tone for the evening. The decor and environment made for a comfortable dining experience. Rating: 4/5 Food Experience: We were a mix of vegetarians and non-vegetarians (3 each), so we tried a variety of dishes across the menu. • Soups: • Chicken & Veg Lemon Clear Soup • Treasure of 8 Chicken & Veg Soup These were decent but lacked the depth of flavor we expected. Rating: 3/5 • Starters: • Drums of Heaven (Chicken) • Chilly Chicken • Veg Dim Sims The starters were passable but didn’t stand out, with flavors that were somewhat underwhelming. Rating: 3/5 • Main Course: • Kimchi Fried Rice: Overpowered by excessive spices, making it almost tasteless. • Chicken Classic Fried Rice: This was well-prepared and enjoyable. • Chicken Hakka Noodles: A good choice for noodle lovers. • Schezwan Gravy with Basa Fish: The highlight of the meal, perfectly cooked with balanced flavors. • Vegetarian Dishes: Unfortunately, the vegetarian options were far below expectations, with bland and uninspired preparations. Overall Food Rating: 3/5 Pricing & Service: The final bill shocked us. For 6 people (3 vegetarians), we paid a hefty ₹7000, which felt exorbitant given the average quality of the meal. To make matters worse, a service charge was added, which is prohibited post-GST implementation. When we pointed this out, the staff promptly canceled it, but it left us wondering how many customers unknowingly pay these charges. Value for Money: The food quality and experience did not justify the steep prices. The restaurant felt overrated and overpriced, leaving us disappointed overall. Final Verdict: • Ambience: 4/5 • Food: 3/5 • Service: 3/5 • Value for Money: 2/5 Overall Rating: 3/5 Key Takeaway: Double-check your bills for unauthorized charges. While the ambience and a few dishes were enjoyable, the overall experience failed to meet expectations, especially at this price point. Proceed with caution if you’re looking for a value-for-money dining experience.
