After seeing many posts on social media regarding the ongoing clay pot festival me and my brother decided to head towards it. We reached there around 7pm yesterday i.e, Wednesday (opening time) and also we were the first to walk-in. But by the time we left, say around 09:30pm there were barely 2-3tables vacant.
So we started with Firangi Chicken but wait, that's not the start :-P they got pani puri as a complimentary starter at our table. The puri was kinda different and its quality can be easily judge by just looking at it. This classy, perfectly round puri they bring specially from Amritsar (i asked a servant), and the sweet and spicy water they get inside a injection on the table.
So after that came our order, Firangi Chicken- soft, hot, juicy and Medium Spicy boneless chicken pieces dressed with a very thin paste of Indian and orientation Spices(peri-peri). They got 5thick, healthy chicken pieces topped with bell peppers on a portable tandoor.
After that we tried Palak-Papdi Chaat, never had it in such a beautiful presentation. They got it on a 4wheeler cycle(hatgaadi) and the Palak Papdi's were standing on it with all the chat on it's tray. Well not only presentation, but also it was really scrumptious.
Well that's all for appetizers, in drinks we went sober-
After that in mains we asked them to get Chicken Bemisal- well this they got it in a clay pot with a edible covering (please don't taste it ;-P ) and filled with rich, creamy gravy inside along with chicken pieces. This Chicken Pieces are crafted beautifully- minced chicken with chopped chillies and cashews are rolled all together inside the chicken breast(cylindrical structure).
So now it was time for desserts, Litchi Ki Tehri sound interesting for us so we got it on our table. Thick creamy milk-mawa paste with litchi inside. Would have loved if it would have been chilled.
After that we ordered for Gulab Jamuns, not that usual simple gulabjamuns. They get this along with vanilla ice-cream and sweet boondi, making it a perfect dessert combo.
Really had a great time here, even the ambiance was classy and service was not disappointing at all, also the food presentation is...
Read moreGood food and ambience, however they could make do with a little faster service. We visited this place with a big group for dinner for Christmas, albeit the place not fully occupied the service was pretty slow.
The food made up for the evening though. Since we were a big bunch, the plates got washed off within seconds, hence don’t have many pics to post. 😅
We tried - Appetizers- Pani puri with syringe - quite innovative way to display the dish.
Paneer Tikka Multani - Pretty good, nothing to complain here.
Chana Jor Poppers - This was a crowd pleaser, quite enjoyed by all.
Panko Crusted Jodhpuri Chilli - can miss this, could have been made better. The outer covering was well seasoned, however the filling lacked the flavour!
Mains - Diwani Subz Handi - this was brilliant, wasn’t overpowering with a lot of masalas and yet pretty tasty.
Paneer Makhni - this was too sweet for our liking, however kids enjoyed it.
Dal Makhni - this was their signature dish and was brilliant!
Dal IB Style - usual yellow dal
Tandoori Rotis & Jeera Rice to give a company to the mains
Dessert - Gulab Jamun - this was brilliant out of everything ordered last evening, hot, sweet and amazing
Rasmalai - was okayish, the milk base could have been more thick is what I feel, it lacked the body and flavour.
Chikki Kulfi - This was plain malai kulfi served with a drizzle of cracked chikkis. It was quite a miss!!
Guava Kulfi with Chilli Foam - the kulfi itself was good, however it wasn’t served with any foam. It was a mere sprinkle of chilli powder. Quite okay dish.
Laccha Rabdi - I dint taste this, however people who ordered it seem to have enjoyed it.
Overall a good place to host...
Read moreVisited this place in the last week right before Diwali. Even on a weekday evening, the place was pretty packed. The place is nicely spacious and has good seatings. They've got a good menu with variety of options (both veg & non-veg) to choose from! What we tried here:
• Tamatar Tulsi Shorba (3/5): Tomato Soup with hint if Tulsi taste to it. Tastes great when you have it while it's hot.
• Murgh Dhaniya Shorba (4/5): Classic Chicken Coriander Soup. Again, tastes great when you have it while it's nicely hot.
• Delhi Palak ki Chaat (4/5): Palak Patta Chaat with spicy potato veggie and curd. Chaat fan? You can definitely call for this one.
• Chana Jor Poppers (5/5): This was something different that I tried out here. Crisp Chana Jor coating on the outside and the inside was so soft and cheesy! This dish will make you go yummm😋
• Firangi Paneer (4/5): This was like a basic Paneer Tikka you can call for.
• Firangi Chicken (5/5): Really good chicken appetizer. Nicely spicy and goes so well with the pudina chutney. Very succulent and juicy boneless chicken pieces.
• Lazeez Murgh Tikka Masala (4/5): Loved this! Red mildly spicy gravy with boneless chicken pieces to it. The quantity of this one is really good and makes a good main course.
• Dhingra ka Dhingri (3/5): This was a gravy with mushrooms in it. Very nice and thick gravy to go along with their breads.
Chikki Kulfi (5/5): So this was basically kulfi ice-cream with chikki on the top. If you're a kulfi lover, this one's a must try!
It's definitely a good place for dinners or lunches with your family. The place has good vibe over-all with helpful staffs. Definitely...
