We were a group of 10 persons who had dinner at Foo at Jio World Drive yesterday. While contemplating 🤔about where to have dinner after an enjoyable movie at Maison PVR, we settled for what we expected to be a fine dining experience at Foo. I will refrain from commenting much on the culinary experience, except state that the portion/quantity was very small and that I did neither find the taste authentic nor traditional-let's put it down to personal taste and maybe to their not so subtle adaptation to the Indian palate. Also, no Otsumami (snack to go with drinks) , just for example, not even soy sauce flavored rice chips and peanuts, not even plain peanuts were offered along with the drinks that we ordered!😔 But I do want to comment on the non cooperative behaviour and dismissive attitude of the service staff in the restaurant. As we found the volume of the music-which by the way was western music in an Asian speciality restaurant and which did not in any way help in making it an immersive experience-very loud, I politely requested one of the staff to lower the volume. We could hardly hear one another, and shouting over one another to be heard would not be appropriate to the ambience, hence the polite request. Let me point out that at this time, we were the only people in the restaurant - bar maybe a couple of other diners! I guess the staff did not hear me over the loud music, because the music was not turned down, not even a little! I chose not to blame him, anyone who works in such a noisy environment day in and 'night' out, would literally turn a deaf ear! So I 'sounded' out to one of the other staff, who, told me that the music volume could not be lowered, that it could be played only on this particular volume!!?!🤔 This was not a 'sound answer(pun intended). In fact, i thought the answer was from an unsound mind! (Sorry, I got a little carried away, wink, wink.) 😉😉 This time I asked for the manager and I told him(I had to shout to make myself heard-you guessed right-because the music was too loud! ) about what the staff told me, and he kind of went along with what his staff said but condescending ly said that he would make a special exception and turn down the volume a bit! Thank you, God, today was my lucky day! 🤨 The volume was turned down a bit, but only for some time, and then, it was turned up again! "WHAT THE FOO"? Also, the bill given initially included a service charge of approximately 1450,which we asked them to remove. Definitely not a shout-out...

Foo means "Good Fortune". And this well known brand open their another outlet at BKC. Foo offers Asian cuisines and is famous for it’s TAPAS (Small Plates), Dimsums, Sushi’s, Soups & Salads.
This is Foo’s third and newest outlet in the city other than, Churchgate & Lower Parel. I am so glad that it has finally come to the biggest financial hub in the city. Foo is at the same place as Good Wife use to be, if you have been there. It’s located at ‘The Capital’ building which is extremely easy to spot.
Since the time this outlet has opened, this is my second visit to Foo. The menu consists of amazing variety in Small & Big plates. Also not to miss, they do have Jain Menu.
The Foo décor is done very elegantly and I found it very classy. This place is huge and has an indoor seating with low as well as high seating around the Bar. There is a small outdoor seating as well. I definitely love the vibe of this place.
You can spot celebrities here and I was lucky to spot India's top cricketer here. They have a really nice private dining area for the same which can accommodate about 12 people very comfortably.
Foo is place for big corporate groups, family meals and for couples as well. The well stocked Bar area is also nice to chill on high chairs. Reservations are recommended, specially over the weekends. We had lots of vegetarian dishes and really relished our experience.
The staff is very knowledgeable with great hospitality. My server Chris was so good and loved his recommendations.

Read moreAfter so many recommendations we finally visited Foo to celebrate my birthday and it was the best decision.
Ambiance:
The atmosphere was quite chill and I could see a lot of diners especially families visiting for dinner. We made reservations in advance and got a table instantly.
Staff:
The entire staff were kind and welcoming. They even switched our table to give us a nicer spot. Also, their service is quick and we got all of our orders at the same time.
What we ate:
TBH, I have noticed people ordering similar items from the menu and I went with the same.
Nikkei Prawn Tempura Uramaki ♥️🔥: Hands down, this was the BEST SUSHI I HAVE EVER EATEN! The prawns were fresh and they nailed the presentation. The sauce in the bottom complemented the sushi very well. They serve 4 sushi in a plate.
Crispy Prawn Cheung Fun 🔥: This is everywhere in the reviews. I had to try it myself and man it was delicious! A soft dumpling covering crispy prawn and dipped in soy sauce. Simplicity at it’s best! They serve 9 pieces and I recommend eating them first while they are warm.
Japanese Blue Butter Fried Rice 🔥: A very simple and flavourful fried rice with veggies. It’s meant to be eaten with a gravy of your choice.
Veg Water Chestnut Yellow Curry 🔥♥️: The curry was perfect! It was creamy, made with cocunuts and veggies which went perfectly with the blue rice.
Hazelnut Dome 🔥🔥: The best way to end the meal was with this brilliant dessert. You crack open the dome and eat it along with the ice cream. Loved it!
Bonus:
Make reservation before visiting here as it can get crowdy. You can use Google or Easydiner while making reservations to enjoy a FREE DESSERT.
Eat the Prawn Cheung Fun first because it becomes soggy. Dip your Sushi into the soy sauce for the best experience!
Special Mention:
I had requested a Happy Birthday note on my dessert and they did it beautifully.
Thank you so much Foo & Team for an amazing experience. You guys have successfully left me craving for more and I cannot wait to visit...
