*REVIEW IS BASED ON...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at FoodLord recently with my father, and our experience, while encompassing a variety of elements, left us with both positive and constructive observations.
Upon our arrival at 8 pm, the establishment was bustling, and we were gracefully ushered to a ground-floor seating area by a helpful server. The overall ambiance was pleasing, although we did encounter some disruption from rather boisterous neighbors. Additionally, the air conditioning breeze near our table was quite robust, impacting our dining comfort.
The classic menu, while elegantly designed, lacked the detailed descriptions one might expect from a premium establishment. Our culinary journey commenced with the tomato soup shorba, promptly served within 10 minutes. While I found the flavors delectable, my father perceived a subtle dullness in taste.
Transitioning to the main course, featuring Veg Kolhapuri, 2 naan, and 1 Jeera Rice, the wait extended to approximately 20 minutes. Inquiring about the restaurant’s history with the server, we learned of its shift to a veg-only menu post-Covid. The naan, served piping hot, posed a challenge as it could easily lead to a burnt tongue. The Veg Kolhapuri, while flavorful, did bear the burden of an excess of salt, affecting the overall taste profile.
Upon concluding our meal, we patiently awaited the bill, which took around 15 minutes to materialize. The total invoice, amounting to around 1000 rupees for two, prompted us to reflect on the perceived value in relation to our dining experience.
While the staff exhibited cordiality and hospitality throughout, the ambiance’s noise levels and the variance in food quality left room for improvement. I would respectfully suggest a focus on addressing noise disturbances and a reconsideration of pricing for a more balanced dining experience. Regrettably, I am unable to offer a current recommendation for FoodLord until these aspects are thoughtfully reconsidered. I trust that these reflections, offered with sincerity, contribute to the ongoing refinement of the dining experience...

Ambiance: Nicely beautifully done decor. Very pleasing and comforting. The restaurant is spread over two levels. Both have a distinct decor and each level is equipped with a large screen to enjoy live sporting events.

Jain variations available in most dishes.
We had Tomato Coriander shorba and Manchow soup. Both of them were served hot and good to taste.
For starters, we went for Hara bhara Kebab and Shanghai Cottage cheese. The Paneer starter was something new and good (mild spice).
For main course, we went for Matka Dum Biryani. A biryani with a nice masala of assorted veggies and paneer. Liked it.
We finished it with Masala chaas, which was fine.
Seating: Decent seating capacity. Certain to be crowded on weekends. Sufficient space between the tables. Mostly tables for 4 or 6. They have private spaces for a group off 10-12. If you are looking for it, you can ask the person at the reception for the same.
Service: Very good. Prompt and efficient. We were attended by Mr. Subrata, who was polite and gave his recommendations when asked for. All those serving at the table were equally good and friendly.
This place is a dining bar.
Those at the reception may not let you in if most people from your dining group are not present. This is done for efficient allotment of dining tables.
