Gopal's Tandoori Chicken — Restaurant in Mumbai

These food walks are turning quite magical in Mumbai. Don't worry, not those traditional explorative trips but reading, walking a few kilometres and stumbling upon these true hidden gems serving food for the soul and not just to earn accolades.

Another one high up in the list now is Gopal's Mutton and Chicken shop on the very same lane as the more celebrated Jhama Sweet Shop in Chembur. Authentic flavors, hole in the wall vibes and lip smacking Tandoor and Tawa items are the highlights.

Upon chatting with the folks running the show here, it's a 40 year old establishment standing the test of time. The crowd was a testament of how loved this place is but the locals and it didn't disappoint one bit.

Items I tasted are their signature Mutton Tawa Masala which was ah-mazing, the Tandoori Chicken made with some spices and the unique Mutton Meatball Pav devoured in a few swift bites.

I had ordered tandoori they took 40mins to give it... finally I walked out from there and asked the reason for late the manager gave very pathetic reply.. they've been doing this with me since the day I made them to threw the rotten prawns biryani which I had ordered once but still I thought that we always take the food from them and sometimes such things happens..since that day they have been deliberately behaving like this... I have habeen visiting this place since my colg days ..Get lost ..never going to come this place...if you don't want to give proper service and fresh food then Will never come...if you are doing this bullshit with the regular customers then everyone will loose interest gopal ka halath sanjus corner jaisa na ho jaye😒..staff is also v arrogant place is also very unhygienic sometimes you'll get rotten food as ur order... Tandoor chicken- is good, no colour although I still felt that the chicken could be softer esp non leg portions... Leg portions are juicy and good.. Keema Kofta Mutton- soft, well made... Gravy is spicy Mutton gravy/curry...mutton pieces are good and soft but gravy is spicy Mutton patty/Cutlery very good but the green chilly pieces makes it spicy One has to wait after placing order It is crowded but that's because it's popular It is chaotic yet people come here for takeway Outlet offers UPI Access to the main road is a pain aa it's crowded in evenings Outlet claims it's open from 5pm but I doubt if 5pm it will start...
