Gurukripa — Restaurant in Mumbai

From the year 2006 to 2008, this place used to a regular "Quarter joint" with dim lights & dark interiors. My workplace was a couple of buildings away and hence it was our watering hole after weekly-monthly meetings.

A recent achievement by team called for a celebration and I thought of our old watering hole but this this when I came here after about 7-8 years, this place had been transformed into a fine dine, though still by the same name.

Location: As you travel from Saki Naka towards L&T, Powai, you will come across a Honda car showroom. Keep going straight, this restaurant is on your left hand side.

Ambience: This place has 3 types of seating arrangements; inside the restaurant, in the compound and roof-top sitting. Inside the restaurant, the sitting is very spacious with nice good enough lighting. If you are a group of about 7-8 people, then they also have 2 private spaces for you on the mezzanine floor.

But if you sit in the open, be ready to battle a mosquitoes though they put a few mosquito repellent coils around your table.

Food: We ordered for drinks with the regular snacks of peanuts, chakli etc.

I ordered for Veg Corn Seekh Kebab, this was a bit on the sweeter side but nice nonetheless. For dinner, I had a Palak Khichdi. I for one believe that some of the best dal khichdi is cooked in these bars.

The meat lovers ordered for a full chicken tandoori for starters. Prawns biryani, chicken fried rice and triple schezwan fried rice for dinner. It was nice, I was told.

Damages: The food bill came to Rs.1780 for all of the above for 4 people.

If you sit inside the restaurant, they don't have a quarter system. If you sit on the roof-top, the prices are 15%-20% more than the ones on the ground level. I guess the price for the "high-level" of service [on the roof-top]

If you have friends / colleagues who have a good capacity to drink then this is the place for you, then this a good place for you since its centrally located and serves good food as well.

Had a great time having lunch over here. Wasn't expecting that kind of food, but was surprised by the taste, their service, good ambience, there is a lovely outside seating, for couples, and friends. We were seating inside. Number of varieties to have. The good thing that made my lunch perfect was the live music going on with lovely songs was amazing. We had a great start with,

⏺️MOCKTAILS.

1. Bamboo glow. It was such an amazing thing to start with, made of pineapple juice mixed with coconut cream and fresh banana. It was really tasty.

2. Tropical fruit punch. Orange, mango, pineapple juice blended with vanilla ice cream, it was really refreshing sweet im taste.

⏺️STARTERS

1. crispy masala rumali with cheese. It was a type of papad but in a rumali form, filled with tomatoes cheese, sev, onions, And was good in taste.

2. Grill chicken in black pepper sauce. Chicken was properly cooked, and the black pepper sauce was om top.

3. chicken sunehri kebab. It was smooth and had cheese Inside it, and the best kebab I've tasted ever.

4. Chicken chatpata. It was spicy, but good, without that spicy taste that dish is incomplete. Crunchy from outside.

⏺️MAIN COURSE.

1. chicken fried rice. Normally a fried rice doesn't taste up to my satisfaction, except seczwan, but here it was up to my satisfaction. Good and big pieces of chicken.

⏺️DESSERTS.

1. Gafbad half. As the name, the dessert was interesting too. 3 layers of ice cream, topped with strawberry, mango, vanilla, and on top of that, number of dry fruits, fruits, and topped with cherry, a good presentation with a yummy taste.

Each and every thingt was presented amazingly, quantity plus quality was good, service provider suggested us properly according to our taste.
