Hanuman Veg Restaurant — Restaurant in Mumbai

We recently visited and ordered Veg Crispy, which was unfortunately neither crispy nor flavourful. This was quite disappointing, especially considering how much we enjoyed it during our previous visits last year—the taste has noticeably declined.

We also ordered Veg Kadhai, Paneer Masala, Dal Tadka, and rice. However, the portion sizes were extremely small. Despite being a group of six, the quantity served wasn’t even sufficient for two people.

To add to the disappointment, the dishes lacked the rich flavours we once appreciated here. The overall experience felt overpriced, with poor taste and inadequate quantity.

We genuinely hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the quality, flavour, and portion sizes. We’d love to enjoy the great food and service that once made this place...

A visit to this charming South Indian restaurant located bang opposite Sion Circle is bound to evoke a lot of nostalgic memories for past students of the nearby SIES College. In the 1980s, Hanuman and Gurukripa were the only options for students to bunk classes and have some fun over some really good food. Hanuman was always the more upscale place to meet over some fantastic vada sambar and a nice strong cup of filter coffee. The place still maintains its high standards and serves the most fulfilling thali with "no onion no garlic" options on request. Talking about Hanuman Hotel in Sion, it used to be the best place for dine-in when I was a child. After 30 years, I decided to revisit this place, and I must say, I am deeply disappointed. The quality of the food has deteriorated so much that it’s hard to explain.

It’s heartbreaking to see a restaurant with a legacy of 30-35 years losing its charm, especially when newer restaurants are raising the bar with better quality and service. Sadly, it seems like Hanuman Hotel is doing little to retain its loyal customers. I truly hope they take steps to restore the standards that once made this...
