The restaurant serves good North Indian food. One of my personal favorites here ‘makki di roti and sarson ka saag’. There are plenty of options for vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians. You should also try their cocktails and mocktails. Most of them come with an Indian-twist. Let me warn you: getting a table here on weekends are extremely difficult. They often have a wait time from 40 minutes to one hour. If you wish to dine here, it is better you plan early and book a table in advance. But considering that it is located in a mall (R-city), it’s very unlikely that you will plan the visit to this restaurant early enough to make a reservation. Urban Tadka is absolutely the first name that will pop up in my mind when someone asks me for North Indian cuisine. This place serves amazing food- smooth flavours and well-cooked meat, offers delicious chutneys on the table, is extremely vibrant and has the vintage village vibe and has great service. Tried kali mirch chicken tikka well balanced and aromatic tikka with mellowed black pepper spice. It is cooked correctly and juices are intact. Happy chicken tikka- it will make you happy superb brownish and masalawala tikka, smokey and mouth melting. Chicken Biryani- they serve chicken biryani in earthen matka superbly curated and made with super spices. Cooked chicken layered with gravies and aromatic rice lastly cooked in sealed matka. Must try biryani lovers. Nimbu adrak murg- its starter cum gravy. Orange gravies made with cream, dahi, adrak and lime flavoured with spices chicken itself cooked in tangy gravy. You can have it with kulcha or as it is Aloo kulcha was a total steal deal. The kulcha was fully loaded with masaledaar aloo masala. I had a very disappointing experience at Urbana Tadka with both the food quality and the service standards. Food Review:
• Chicken Tandoori – Completely unacceptable. The chicken tasted old, had a strong stinging smell, was extremely dry inside, and lacked freshness.
• Garlic Naan – Not up to the mark. The portion size was too small compared to standard serving sizes, and it was undercooked.
• Chicken Dum Biryani – The biryani was served cold. After pointing it out, the manager replaced it, but unfortunately, the second serving was tasteless and lacked any authentic biryani flavor.
• Lemon Garlic Prawns – Lacked balance of flavors and did not feel fresh at all.
Service Review: The service was shockingly poor and nowhere close to acceptable standards. The service staff seemed completely unaware of the menu and lacked basic product knowledge. They were inattentive, untrained, and unprofessional in handling guest queries. It genuinely felt like the service team was operating in a different world altogether.
Overall Experience: The combination of pathetic food quality and extremely poor service makes Urbana Tadka a place I would strongly advise against visiting. There was no sense of hospitality, no attentiveness, and no effort from the staff to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
Suggestion: Urbana Tadka at R City Ghatkopar needs a complete revamp in terms of food quality, menu execution, staff training, and service etiquette. Until then, I do not recommend anyone...
