I recently visited Shahnaz Hotel after a pilgrimage to Mahim Dargah, seeking a vegetarian meal. Despite my anticipation, the culinary offerings failed to impress.

Upon ordering, I selected the classic Mater Paneer accompanied by Tandoori Roti, Garlic Naan, and finally, Fried Rice. Despite my voracious appetite, the portions seemed substantial for two individuals.

Regrettably, the Mater Paneer lacked the traditional flavors I expected. The gravy appeared undercooked, sporting an unusual light green hue, deviating significantly from the customary preparation. Moreover, the Roti failed to meet basic expectations, proving tough and devoid of the anticipated softness or buttery texture typically associated with Garlic Naan and Tandoori Roti.

As a last resort, I sampled the Fried Rice, only to be met with further disappointment. The dish seemed bereft of its intended flavors, lacking the finesse and balance one would expect from a staple dish.

Overall, the entire meal left much to be desired. Despite the exorbitant rates, the food quality was subpar, failing to justify the high prices. It is evident that their focus lies more on profit margins rather than prioritizing food quality and adhering to authentic recipes. Absolute waste of money. Ordered Chicken Afghani which was bland gravy with no chicken pieces in it, but it was just boiled shredded chicken tossed in a quick ready green gravy. Shredded chicken pieces like the ones added to chicken manchow soup on top. When pointed out to manager, he very arrogantly said that in 5star hotel, you get different. Here you will get this. I had also ordered some tandoori rotisserie to go alongwith it, which thankfully was the only savior. The mutton dum biryani ordered left a lot to say. Food was tasteless pathetic service, very unhygienic, we went to AC Hall on the top , we came to celebrate birthday , our day was ruined, by their food and service, they don't know what is there is the menu ,we ordered reshmi and malai kabab it was just like boiled chicken no taste no malai at all. Jeera rice not cooked properly, Dal tadka without salt, butter chicken yuk never had such taste no creamy taste no butter nothing chicken burnt, taste was like tomato chutney, green chiken was also same taste , prawns biryani was like just added prawns in masala rice , prawns not fresh.
