"JB Dynasty: A Dynasty in Decline"
"In search of a culinary adventure, we decided to stray from the familiar confines of Uncle's Kitchen and venture into the realm of JB Dynasty, a once-promising Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately, our daring escapade ended in disappointment, leaving us yearning for the predictable comforts of its famed neighbor.
Ascending to the AC section at the top, the ambiance resembled more of a godown than a dining area. The lone saving grace was the option to order food from the neighboring Malwani restaurant, as JB Dynasty's Chinese fare had evidently taken a turn for the worse.
With much anticipation, we ordered two classic Chinese dishes—chicken in Hunan style and chicken in black bean sauce. However, our excitement quickly faded as the dishes arrived looking strikingly similar, both drenched in oil. Yes, oily Chinese food—a first for me, and not in a good way. The flavors were indistinguishable, and the excessive grease left us yearning for a palate cleanser, prompting an impromptu trip to Baskin-Robbins afterward.
The service, or lack thereof, added insult to injury. Three waiters, seemingly more interested in their conversation, reluctantly pulled themselves away to take our order. And if that wasn't off-putting enough, one of them casually picked his nose while preparing a fresh lime soda for the table next to us, right there in plain sight. The epitome of unhygienic practices.
The overall experience at JB Dynasty was a far cry from what it once promised. The food lacked authenticity, flavor, and any semblance of quality. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and untrained, more focused on their personal affairs than providing a hospitable dining experience.
In contrast, the tried and true Uncle's Kitchen across the road maintains its consistency and quality. While one might crave variety, the lesson learned is that sometimes it's best to stick with what you know, especially when the alternative is a disappointing dining disaster like JB Dynasty.
In summary, JB Dynasty has sadly fallen from grace, and until significant improvements are made, I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking a satisfying Chinese dining...
Read moreVery bad experience at jb dynasty restaurant. I visited there coz uncle's kitchen was crowded and my daughter was hungry so thought to visit this place, but it was a wrong decision of visiting here. We ordered for chicken haka noodles and apple chicken. Apple chicken was fine but haka noodles was tasteless and also there were hardly few shredds of chicken pieces were there whn i called the person there who was I guess the manager and informed him about no chicken in noodles then he replied saying that they shredd the chicken n put so I asked him to show me n when he checked he also cudnt find more than 2 very small shredds, then he just took the bowl of noodles which was remained very less in that after half of it was already served in our plate and then baught with few shredds of chicken pieces in to it. Which was really a pathetic move by that manager as he left the noodles which was already served. Secondly after eating the food when I got the bill I just thought of cross checking it when I found that the price for apple chicken was put more then I showed this to the waiter n then he got the rate changed n gave me a reason that there is a problem. I just want to understand that what if we don't see things properly or cross check then they will just take our advantage. Many times we don't cross check the bill or other things like what exactly we order then we get fooled. JB dynasty kindly do not fool the customers like this. If we pay for chicken then do serve that coz u r charging for it and do not cheat the customers on their bill. It was my mistake that I couldn't preserve the bill as my daughter thew it bymistake. I hope the management will take care of it, but from my side I will never wud like to visit ur place and will never let my friends also go there. Kindly do not fool...
Read moreI have been visiting JB Dynasty with my family since almost 20 years and have never had any complaints ... the staff is welcoming and pleasing ... the food has always tasted the same on every visit which I mean is excellent and filling ... the menu fare is excellent and spoils you to make a slow choice as you are happily forced to decide longer to make the best of your visit ... the rate is reasonable even though it has more than quadrapled in all these years ... but ... nothing to complain.
This was until April 2018.
This week, we did a family visit again and everything is as welcoming as mentioned before except that the bowl sizes have got smaller ... thus the servings have got smaller ... the ingredients have got a bit lesser than before including the size of the portions.
E.g. the wantons filling is barely much and the roast lamb which is my family favourite has reduced in size with the lamb strips having got smaller and thinner.
Also, we couldn't tell if the Oyster sauce had the same authentic taste as before.
I thought it was me but then every family member felt the same.
Times are tough, competition is ripping ... but ... we hope JB Dynasty won't let the market pressures affect their quality as many families and couples love this cosy silent...
