Food is good and tasty but pathetic service and miserable management... Didn't know that inviting friends over there would be such an embarrassment.....

Last Saturday night (10/3/2018) after one function we decided to go for a dinner. As we wanted to have Sea food that day every one decided to go to Gazali but one of us suggested this place 'Jai Hind' (bandra east) which was seconded by me as we both had food here earlier. We reached Jai Hind by 10:45 pm , it was little crowded. As there was waiting, Rushikesh gave his name to the person who was at the counter and dealing with waiting list. We were told to wait for 15 mins but looking at the crowd we knew that it would take 30-45 mins.. We were waiting out side the restaurant at waiting area. After half n hour at 11:15 we placed an order for starters and requested to serve it outside as our Cars were parked just opposite to the restaurant but the attendant told us to wait for 10 mins as the table for 6 ppl was getting cleared. Assuming the question was of only 10 mins we also nodded. After 10 mins to our surprise this fellow allowed another group which had arrived much after us to get into the restaurant and have a seat. We were very hungry but still didn't lose our patience and kept waiting for our turn. At 11:40 pm again another group which had come to the restaurant after us was offered a table. This time we lost our patience and asked for a clarification for doing so to which the management of this restaurant didn't hv any answer. There was totally no communication between the waiters and the manager. It was a clear lacking of management amongst the staff of this restaurant. As it was quarter to twelve they asked us to place order for main course and accordingly we placed the main course order. We were promised by them that as soon as we get the table, the starters would be served within 5 mins. Finally at around 12:10 a.m. we got a table but there was no one to attend us, forget about starters but for 10 mins even water was also not served to us. After waiting for almost one and half hour we were expecting that atleast food would be served well but that too in vain. We were directly served with our 'Thalis' which was our main course, when we asked them what happened to our starters then they rushed to Kitchen to bring the starters. It was very disappointing to hv such an experience from such restaurant who claimed to be one of the best restaurant for Sea Food. It was embarrassing for me and Rushikesh as we both had suggested this restaurant. It was really pathetic when we came to know that in the FISH THALI they served us TANDOORI ROTI instead of Chapati or Bhakri when asked about this mis-match combination they informed us that chapati, bhakri everything is over and Tandoori Roti and Naan are the only options that we were left with. We had placed an order for starters at 11:15 and main course at 11:45 but that time also we were not informed that they can't serve us Chapati and Bhakri. If they had informed us we would have changed our main course accordingly. I dont understand if such restaurants can not provide service as they claim then why to fool people... Just for Money... It was really a miserable experience of this Restaurant and feeling pity about myself and Rushikesh for suggesting this place for friends. Definitely not going to this place again.. Dr....

Nestled in the bustling heart of Mumbai, Jai Hind Lunch Home is a seafood aficionado's paradise that masterfully marries tradition with taste. With multiple outlets across the city, this establishment has become synonymous with authentic coastal cuisine, particularly for those seeking a pocket-friendly yet indulgent dining experience.

Upon entering the Bandra West location, you're greeted by a modest yet inviting ambiance that sets the stage for the culinary delights to follow. The menu is a treasure trove of coastal specialties, with seafood taking center stage. The Bombil Sandwich, a delightful rendition of Bombay Duck, offers a crispy exterior encasing tender, flavorful fish—a true testament to the kitchen's prowess. Equally impressive are the Prawns Koliwada, where succulent prawns are enveloped in a spiced batter, delivering a harmonious blend of heat and zest.

For the main course, the Chicken Sukka Thali is a standout. This platter features a medley of flavors, including a spicy rassa, a robust chicken sukka, and accompaniments like kombdi vade and sol kadi, each element complementing the other in a symphony of taste. Seafood enthusiasts will revel in the Pomfret Goan Curry, where the fresh catch is bathed in a luscious, tangy gravy, best enjoyed with neer dosa or kombdi vade.

Service is prompt and attentive, ensuring that even during peak hours, your dining experience remains seamless. The staff's knowledge of the menu is commendable, often guiding patrons through the extensive offerings with insightful recommendations. Price-wise, Jai Hind Lunch Home strikes a balance between quality and affordability, making it a go-to spot for both locals and visitors craving authentic coastal fare without stretching their wallets.

However, a word to the wise: the establishment's popularity means it can get crowded, especially during lunch and dinner hours. While the ambiance is cozy, space is at a premium, and the absence of restroom facilities at certain locations can be a slight inconvenience.

In conclusion, Jai Hind Lunch Home offers a culinary journey through India's western coastline, delivering robust flavors and fresh seafood in a no-frills setting. It's a must-visit for those eager to dive into Mumbai's rich seafood traditions without...

Jai Hind Lunch Home

Jai Hind Lunch Home serving lip smacking and authentic Sea food along with Mutton and Chicken dishes. Since, it is very famous restaurant one has to stand in queue for a long time. With a distinct and well planned menu of Vegetarian and especially Non- Vegetarian dishes comes peaceful ambience. A variety of flavors, well-trained staff and amazing service make Jai Hind a well-known name across the city.

They have 5 outlets in Mumbai. This place never disappointed. Proper place to visit with family and friends.

What we had?

Bombil Sandwich: One large Bombil (Bombay Duck) cut in middle, stuffed with prawns and shallow fried to perfection. Goes very well with chutney. Tasted so yummy and crisp. Must Try.

Prawns Fry: It was so delicious. Absolutely recommended. Approx 14-15 middle sized prawns deep fried to perfection.

Basa Tawa: Soft and delicate basa fish fillets cooked with minimal fuss and batter fried, It was so aromatic and tasted good.

Chicken Sagoti Vade: Traditional malwani style chicken curry in a yummy spicy gravy, it was very flavorful and very delicious. Really tasted well. Though Vade was bit oily but quite manageable.

Pomfret Fry Thali: This thali consists of Pomfret Fry, Pomfret Gravy along with your choice of Chapati/ Vade/ Neer Dosa. We have to make it simple, so opted chapati. Loved it. It was worth every second of the wait. Highly recommended.

Solkadhi: Delicious and very fresh sol kadhi. Amazing!!!

Overall pricing is not too expensive, super value food with generous portions. All the reasons to get hooked.

A Memorable Fish Feast at Jai Hind Home, Bandra East I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jai Hind Home in Bandra East, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, the fish dishes. Each bite was a burst of flavors, showcasing the freshness and expertise of the chef. Tried out the recommended Bombil fry , Surmai Tawa fry , Chicken Sukka along with neer dosas ; washed down with a glass of Sol Kadhi out here . I had travelled around 13 kms to check out this place ; and would say all my efforts were worthwhile. The food , specially the fish fries did impress me. I would specially recommend the decent sized Surmai fry . The Chicken Sukka tasted fine, but could have less bones and more chicken in it. The neer dosas out here are quite good . It was the first time , I tasted Sole Kadi and would say it does it's job of cleansing the palate and cooling ones stomach , as one goes through spicy coastal dishes . None of the dishes is overtly salty , so that's one thing one need not bother about . Hope to try out their Goan and Karnataka specialities; before I leave Mumbai this time around. Ambience is not something I bother about , when I try out local cuisines; but I would say, it's decent enough . P.S: 2nd Visit : Tried out Bombil fry yet again , followed by Tisrya ( Clam ) thali. The Tisrya ( Clam ) masala is quite fiery to the tongue . I liked it better when I had it with Rice than when I had with the chapattis.
