I love referring to dining out in Lower Parel as a dining experience to be partaken in something of a miracle mile. It’s so easy to have a great meal here, that it conversely makes it hugely difficult for restaurants to rise above the madding crowd and set themselves apart. In my eyes, Late Checkout has that je ne sais quoi, that ineffable special something. It’s not just the food, which is fantastic as seen in the crusted buff and sensational duck curry puffs. It’s not even down to its bar program, with the stunning Missing Trust Fund that I would say was the best cocktail I have had in 2025, bar none. It’s not even the service, which was warm, convivial, affable, and chatty. We chose to start at the bar, and Prithvi, both Nikhil’s, and Shubham spared no effort to keep us engaged and immersed in one of Bombay’s best bar programs, bar none. It was the manner, I think, in which it all dovetailed to create something truly special that was more than the sum of its parts that made this place just that bit magical. We had (as I best recollect) 8 cocktails, 3 starters, and 2 mains for ₹13k for 2, and I can honestly say that it was money very well spent. I would happily come back again for more, and that degree of happiness is the ultimate litmus test for any restaurant or bar, really. Again, a big thank you to Prithvi for his warmth, both Nikhil’s for their affability, and to Shubham for keeping it real. Late checkout is a special place; part watering hole, part joyous kitchen, and all heart. If you’re a cocktail connoisseur and haven’t come here yet, make the pilgrimage, grab the Missing Trust Fund, and thank me later. Maybe I’ll see you at Late Checkout when I swing by next time.

I went to late check out thinking I will have a great experience for my friends birthday but ended up being extremely disappointed We arrived at our booking time and they didn’t have our name on the reservation list even tho we had booked one they accommodated us in the outside area which was super sad and depressing we couldn’t enjoy the ambiance at all which is the whole point of such places later me and my friends ordered our drinks- I ordered the main character energy which came with the with seasonal boba (guess what they served me?) the drink without the boba and when I asked for it they said it wasn’t available (they should’ve informed me before I ordered the drink else I would’ve ordered something else) when I told him I was disappointed he said he would give me 2 of it next time ?! Will there be a next time with the service I got? - I don’t think so ! Then we requested some dessert for my friends since it was her birthday we wait for quite a bit and never got it, we got fed up and called for the bill (and guess what?) they had billed us for the dessert ? That to the one they never got. At this point I was furious I told the guy and he apologised ofc and got us the dessert and said it was on the house . I mean this place has a lot of potential ! Food is pretty good , drinks are pretty good ambiance but service is Horrible and didn’t match the standard the place is clearly aiming for.

Had dinner at the very newly opened restaurant Late Check Out. Walked into a fantastic ambiance. The restaurant was really beautifully done up. Started with the Brioche buns which were really nice. Ordered another bun and they charged us for that. Then we ordered the charcoal tempura asparagus roll which was simply fantastic. The next item was the Asparagus artichoke dip with crackers which was a total miss. It lacked any flavours and taste. For main course we ordered the rolled seared snapper which was excellent. This was followed by the crusted buff which was easily the best item of all. Finally came the Mandarin orange duck which was extremely tough and chewy and nowhere close to the other two main courses. We decided to order another portion of the charcoal tempura asparagus roll which was a blunder in hindsight as they took 35 minutes to serve the dish and we had to cancel. Dessert which was the tropical pannacotta was well made but also took a long time to come. Overall a hit and miss experience. The staff looks very young and inexperienced. Meal for three without alcohol was 7100
