I visited Maasoli Lunch Home on November 20th, 2024, and was immediately struck by the welcoming atmosphere. The staff politely offered us seats, and I was impressed by their attention to detail, particularly in serving ladies before gentlemen.
As a Maharashtrian, I was excited to introduce my Bangalore friends to our local cuisine. We ordered the Bangda Thali, Chicken Thali, Chicken Koliwada, and Chicken Pulav. I also tried the Kharvas. Our total bill came to ₹1470.
The Bangda Thali was perfect, with great taste. However, I was slightly disappointed with the Chicken Thali, as the rice bhakri serving was small, with only one piece per serving. I felt that, considering the price, two rotis should be served, regardless of the guest's preference.
As a hotelier, I always check the texture and quality of food before eating. Unfortunately, I found a housefly in the Chicken Pulav, which made me uncomfortable and unable to enjoy the rest of the meal. I informed the staff, and they promptly offered a fresh replacement.
Despite this incident, I was impressed by the staff's behavior, the cleanliness of the washroom, and the amazing taste of the food. The Solkadi was particularly noteworthy. The ambiance was great, although parking space was limited.
I would advise the management to double-check their food before serving to prevent similar incidents so can't ruin other guest experience just like I had. I would recommend Maasoli Lunch Home for its delicious food and...
Read moreI don't know why this lunch home is over hyped! They made us wait for 1:30 hours saying it would take just 10 minutes more. We still waited patiently as we were starving really hard & we didn't want to miss on a good food (as per the reviews & friends' references). However, it was really disappointing that bhakri & chapati was not available as it was really late & in fact it wasn't our fault at all as they made us wait for so long & they made us to have vada with fish. Secondly, the taste of starter (Prawns garlic) was literally pathetic & it wasn't cooked at all. We had a little bit hopes from thalis we ordered but unfortunately we ended up having the worst fish thali ever. None of the items served in the fish thali, instead of Vada & sukat were good. I would never recommend this place, especially when you are super hungry & craving for good fish items. Don't fall for the fake good reviews & fake good opinions about this place because I fell sick later in the...

Lunch at Maasoli (Byculla/Fort/Dadar Shivaji Park) was a flavorful delight with a few highlights and one minor miss! 🌟
🦐 Prawns Koliwada: Crispy, piping hot, and bursting with coastal spices—an absolute winner! The perfect crunch and bold flavors made this a standout. Loved it! 🔥
🍗 Chicken Sukha: Tender, aromatic, and packed with a spicy kick—this dish was a star! The masala was rich and left us craving more. A must-try! 😋
🍚 Chicken Biryani: Sadly, the letdown of the meal. While the chicken was juicy, the rice had an overpowering yellow (haldi-like) hue and lacked the depth of traditional biryani flavors. Expected better here. 😕
Overall: A great lunch experience with two stellar dishes and one average one. Service was prompt, and the vibe was cozy. Would return for the prawns and sukha! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 (4/5 stars)
Pro Tip: Skip the biryani and explore their seafood/grilled...
