Honestly, the place felt overhyped, and the shady vibe didn’t help set the mood. We kicked things off with Prawn Braque (5/10) bland enough to forget mid-bite. The Manchow Soup (7/10) was passable, but the Butter Garlic Prawns (6/10) were a letdown in both taste and freshness. Then came the surprise hit Kerala-style Chicken Bao (8/10) soft buns, juicy filling, and a flavour punch I didn’t see coming. Unfortunately, the seafood took a nosedive after that: Surmai Masala Fry (4/10) had that dreaded fishy smell, and Bangda Masala Fry (6/10) barely made the cut. Redemption arrived in the form of the Mixed Fish Biryani (9/10) aromatic, perfectly spiced, and worth coming back for. Followed by mutton ghee roast which was flavourful, spicy and delicious. Sadly, the Chicken Mongolian Pot Rice (6/10) went overboard on sourness. The saving grace? Neer Dosa and Appam, light, fresh, and just perfect with the curries. Sorry for the pictures

What’s a trip to Mumbai without indulging in some amazing seafood? We headed to Mahesh Lunch Home in Andheri and got a taste of their specialties. First up, the famous fried Bombay duck – a must-try local fish that was absolutely delicious. Then came the jumbo prawns ghee roast, and let me tell you, these were hands down the best prawns I've ever had! The gravy was perfectly spiced and rich in flavor. We also had the Chicken Chakori Kebab, which was really good too. By the time we got to the mains, we were pretty stuffed, so we only ordered the Schezwan fried rice, which was decent but couldn't compete with the starters. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality and flavors totally make up for it. If you're in Mumbai and craving seafood, this is a spot you don’t want to miss! #FoodShaukeen #MaheshLunchHome

Spent a beautiful evening trying out the traditional seafood delicacies at the legacy hotel of Mahesh lunch home. Their food has this homely touch with spices sourced from the south. We had great suggestions from Mr.Rajesh. Our recommendations 😋Crab Meat soup : chunks of crab meat cooked in delicious veggies 😋Surmai Tawa Fry : Slow cooked piece of marinated surmai in traditional masala 😋Chicken green garlic : My favourite here it’s a boneless delicacy try it with neer dosa 😋Butter Garlic Prawns : Tiger prawns tossed in butter garlic sauce 😋Prawns Chettinad with Appam : Most wholesome main course is this chettinad non spicy gravy with prawns tastes amazing with freshly made Appams 😋Tender Coconut Payasaam : infused with flakes of fresh coconut it’s the best Indian dessert

Mahesh Lunch Home. Well before visiting this Sakinaka outlet, i was considering this name is the chosen ones list. But this Sakinaka outlet highly disappointed me. First we ordered crab meat soup and manchow soup. Both tasted absolutely tasteless. Crab meat soup of 5 Spice is much better. Mahesh Lunch Home being a famous joint for sea food, should have been serving the best crab meat soup in the town. Manchow soup, i am sure the one which is sold road side would be 100 times better. Then in starter we had ordered chicken chakori kebab and bombay duck fry. The kebabs were very cold, as if they were cooked long back and kept idle for hours and then served. When we complained about those being very cold, the captain is shamelessly telling us, you ordered soup first na, and the kebabs got ready before the soups so they got cold. I mean what the duck i have to do with that. We then ordered chicken tandoori which was okaish. In main course we ordered 2 murg musallam and 3 bangda curry. We asked the captain as one murg musallam will serve how many ppl, to which he said 4. We were total 12 adults and 4 kids, yet we ordered only 2 murg musallam. But when it was served, we were in awe. It was served in a huge bowl, nearly almost 1 murg musallam we had to take parcel.

Ideally we expected that the waiter would suggest us, knowing what we have already consumed.

We had to take almost 1 full murg musallam and 2 bangda curry parcel. Murg musallam was again very awful in taste. More garam masala.

They decorate the table with their package drinking water so you automatically consume it before asking for normal water and then be surprised to know that the water which you consumed, costed 100 per bottle 🤣

We had first gone to Persian Darbar which is in Times square building, but since it had 30 minutes waiting, we called up Mahesh Lunch Home for availability. Unfortunately they had the availability and so we landed up there. I seriously regret for visiting Mahesh Lunch Home.

Over rated Over priced Poor service

It was my first...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mahesh lunch home and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience.

The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with comfortable seating and beautiful decor. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by friendly staff who showed me to my table and handed me the menu.

The menu at Mahesh lunch home was extensive, offering a variety of seafood dishes as well as some vegetarian options. As a seafood lover, I was delighted to see the wide range of options available. After much contemplation, I decided to try their famous butter garlic crab and some prawn biryani.

The food was simply outstanding. The butter garlic crab was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of spice and buttery goodness. The prawn biryani was also a winner, with the rice being cooked to perfection and the prawns being succulent and flavorful.

What impressed me the most about Mahesh lunch home was the freshness of their seafood. Being a coastal city, Mumbai is known for its fresh seafood and Mahesh lunch home definitely lives up to that reputation. Each dish was bursting with flavors and it was evident that only the freshest ingredients were used.

The service at Mahesh lunch home was top-notch. The staff was attentive and made sure that all our needs were taken care of. They also provided recommendations on what dishes to try and were very knowledgeable about the menu.

Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience at Mahesh lunch home. The food, ambiance, and service were all exceptional. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious seafood meal in Mumbai. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes...
