Mama Mia is a popular restaurant located on Clare Road in Mumbai. It is known for its Italian cuisine, particularly its pizza, and its American-style burgers. I recently visited the restaurant and would like to share my experience in this review.
Ambiance:
The ambiance of Mama Mia is warm and welcoming. The restaurant has a cozy and intimate setting with comfortable seating and dim lighting. The decor is simple but elegant, and the walls are adorned with paintings and photographs of Italy. The atmosphere is conducive to a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience.
Service:
The service at Mama Mia is prompt and courteous. The staff is attentive and friendly, and they make an effort to ensure that customers have a pleasant experience. The menu is extensive, and the staff is knowledgeable about the dishes and can offer recommendations based on customer preferences.
Food:
The food at Mama Mia is the highlight of the restaurant. The pizza is one of the best I have tasted in Mumbai. The crust is thin and crispy, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. I particularly enjoy pizza, which had a perfect balance of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and basil leaves. The American-style burger was also excellent. The patty was juicy and tender, and the bun was soft and fresh. The fries that came with the burger were crispy and well-seasoned.
However, during my visit, I noticed a significant number of flies in the restaurant. It was a bit disturbing, and it affected my overall experience. The staff tried their best to keep the flies away, but it was challenging to do so in an open-air restaurant setting. I hope that the management takes necessary steps to address this issue in the future.
Price:
The prices at Mama Mia are reasonable and affordable. The restaurant offers value for money, and the quality of the food justifies the prices. The portion sizes are generous, and customers are unlikely to leave feeling hungry or unsatisfied.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, Mama Mia is an excellent restaurant that offers delicious Italian and American cuisine. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is attentive and courteous. The pizza and burgers are the highlights of the menu and are highly recommended. The prices are reasonable and affordable, making Mama Mia a great option for casual dining. However, the issue of flies in the restaurant is a concern and can affect the overall dining experience. I hope that the management takes necessary steps to address this issue in the future. Nonetheless, I would recommend Mama Mia to anyone looking for good food in a cozy and...
Read moreLocated right in the heart of busy Claire Rd. In Byculla lies a pizzeria that offers an intriguing menu and an amazing variety of pizzas....
Not just Pizzas this place is well known for its "Baked Dishes" (ref pic below) and their own versions of "Sub" (sandwiches) both of which are a must try.
Along with Italian (Fusion) this place also has some awesome dishes to choose from its Chinese Menu.
My favourite here is Baked Pasta in white Sauce and Fried Chicken....
Ambience is excellent with its lively paintings ( Murals) on gr. floor and bright orange walls with its glass facade on first floor.....
The wait staff is polite and cordial....
Owner / Manager Mohd. Ali Irani deserves a special mention for his friendliness and making his customers feel special and valued.....
Wheel chair accessible..... Need a bigger / better washroom.
This place is located on a rather busy street with nearly paved footpath just outside it.
There is enough place for vehicles to pass on both the sides of road. Finding a parking spot is a challenge....
Byculla is nearest railhead.... For those who like to soak in bit of Mumbai Heritage along with food...... The infamous. 150 year old "Khada Parsee" statue is just at a stone's throw away distance and so is the Mumbai firebrigade headquarters with a "Vintage Fire Truck" at the entrance.
Must try place for Fusion/ Italian / Chinese food...
Read moreProblems come and go, pizza is forever. This place is great if you like a bright, loud and noisy place. On the downside, there’s always too many people. The neighborhood is crowded during the day so make sure you go there in the evening or night.
We tried their new addition to the menu, called the ‘Mumbai masala’. It had a decent amount of chicken chunks. They were juicy and delightful. The cheese on top was too little if you are a cheese lover like me! However, they do have the option of converting you pizza to a cheese burst at an extra cost. It had a blend of Indian flavours but it was not spicy. It was a little too mild.
The staff was friendly but our order did take a good 30-40 minutes to arrive. I do however recommend this place for some good pizza. Also do try their pasta, especially the bulldog, there’re an...
